Hi friends,
I watched the 2-D animated version of the epic on 31st and came out entertained and totally fascinated.
The director and team deserves appreciation to have made a epic saga into animation, that takes guts.
The best part is having voice overs of all great artists like Big B, Anupam K, Anil K, Ajay D, Manoj B, Vidya etc and the characters have face resemblances so that makes it easy for the audience to connect and remember the characters.
Amitabh Bachchan as Bhishma.
Shatrughan Sinha as Krishna.
Sunny Deol as Bheem.
Ajay Devgan as Arjun.
Anil Kapoor as Karna.
Madhuri Dixit as Durga or Adi Shakti.
Vidya Balan as Draupadi.
Manoj Bajpayee as Yudhisthira.
Anupam Kher as Shakuni.(The best one)
Deepti Naval as Kunti.
Jackie Shroff as Duryodhan.
The detailing is really good, the large palaces, forests, darbars, janta are nicely depicted. And the final Kurukshetra war too is a neatly done.
Kudos to the team to have accommodated a epic into 2hrs covering all major and important scenes.
So it gives a very good picture in a short span and audience get the pleasure of watching it in just 2 hrs. It give the moral and message well.
Shakuni mama is the best. I love Anupam Kher, what a voice he has lent! Bhisma, Arjun, Karna, Bheem, Lord Krishna all are very nice.
Flaw: Draupadi could have been shown more beautiful and graceful, she looks bit robotic, though Vidya's voice suits well.
Music: Background music is good, the songs are aptly placed and take the story forward.
The last one " Dharamshetra.Kurukshetra" is very nicely sung by Kailash Kher and remains in ur mind for long.
Verdict: 4/5
Go out there and watch it with friends and family. You will definitely enjoy this mythological flick.
Note: For sure Mahabharata is an ocean, jitna khojo utna kum hai. I myself kept googling on different characters after watching the movie. Really its such a fascinating story with multi faceted personalities.
I read many reviews on net saying that Indian animation is very poor etc, I dont understand why is everything compared to Hollywood?
I totally appreciate our Indian artist who make Indian Animation films. It takes courage and hard work to show larger than life chracters as cartoons.
This flick has very good standards, great detailing and suitable voice overs. Lets encourage sincere animators by watching their efforts.
Do watch it!
On a+ve note: It was nice to see the theater almost filled with adults and kids alike, enjoying this one!
Thanks for reading,
Cheers.
