I heard the name MagicBricks probably in the mid-2000s if I remember correctly, mainly owing to the huge half-page advertisements that used to appear in Times Of India etc. At that time I never thought that in the next few years this company will turn into such a big player.

The concept of specialized, online real-estate portals was any relatively new in those days. Yet I did start using MagicBricks in the late 2000s especially when I traveled out of Pune and was looking for short term or long term accommodation. And have been using it since then very consistently, either for searching accommodation or posting adverts for renting out my flat or as PG or for selling etc. So I do have plenty of rich experience from all buy-sell-rent-PG aspects as a provider as well as a consumer. I have also interacted with lots of real estate agents for almost all types of transactions or deals. So have plenty of experience in the real estate sector in multiple cities across continents.

I must admit that I have come across very few real estate portals that are as sophisticated, famous, high-traffic, esteemed, feature-rich and user-friendly as MagicBricks.com. It is indeed the crown-jewel of property sites.

Over a period of years, it has always improved, innovated and updated itself and has always been consistent with the latest market trends, customer needs, maintaining good up-time, excellent response time etc. All this is possible by the virtue of excellent, world-class teams for technology, marketing, product management as well as other areas. On the surface, it may seem just a web portal, but behind the scenes, you need tons of efforts to provide nothing but the best in terms of user experience, latest features, wide-reach across the country, excellent web engineering, updated researched information etc.

The best thing is that since there is such a huge and wide user/customer base, you tend to get a very good response upon posting any kind of advertisement either for selling or renting out your property. Since the last 5-6 years, I have always posted some or the other advt on magicbricks, but mostly for renting out my flat as PG accommodation. Always got an excellent, timely response from good, decent public like IT professionals of top companies or from other such sectors.

Creating such an e-meeting place for various types of providers and consumers of real estate is indeed a noble and altruistic mission, meant for the higher common good of humankind – for making people’s lives easier, giving them an excellent virtual tour of potential properties, giving them so many good options that can be browsed from the comfort of one’s home, empowering them to interact with people across localities or cities or even countries, bringing people closer, making markets attractive and competitive, encouraging the spirit of open, democratic economy. all these things are well and truly appreciated and highly commendable. My best wishes to MagicBricks and all their brilliant, outstanding teams in all departments! A big thank you to all of you for enriching our lives and giving us choices, opportunities and in many cases even careers, livelihoods, side-incomes, steady growth of economy etc.

Too expensive packages.

Bad customer service.

Didn't get response from customer care inspite of sending many emails and reminders. Can't reach a proper human customer service person. They redirect you to robot chat. That robot chat(or AI chat) is so dumb that it cant understand your issue or query and keep on repeating the same menu and answers again and again.

Once you buy a package they forget you until the time for renewal of package comes!

Just hype, no performance or results. No sympathy or concern for customers.

Also most of the ad responses you get are not matching properly. So ultimately the responses are useless. They dont allow you to edit ad details once the ad is purchased and goes live.
