Macromedia Dreamweaver is an Adobe product. It is a editor tool primarily used for web designer and developers.
Being a software developer, I am habituated using it since last 8-10 years. My faculty first instructed me to use this effective tool when I was a new kid in the world of web development. My seniors were also very fond of this software and used it extensively for writing codes and designing web pages.
Macromedia Dreamweaver is not a heavy weight software does not occupy much space in the computer hard drive. The installation process is quite easy and is completed with in few minutes. The editor works in a lightning speed and works fine even if the RAM is low on a system.
It is having some very useful and unique features which makes my work hassle free and fast. I am breaking up the useful features of this software below:
1) It has three window tab(Code, Design, Split). So on code window you can see only code and on design window you can see the output of the webpage being designed without running the file into the browser. So it is quite easy to complete the design work by viewing only design tab. And on split tab half of the window displays code and other half shows design. So you can view both your design and coding simultaneously.
2) This editor provides suggestion for programming as well as design work. It provides PHP, Javascript function suggestion as well as CSS tags suggestion for the programmers and the designers. So, the working process becomes super fast and easy for the workers to memorize the function and tags.
3) It also detects errors in the written code as well as on design tags. So you can rectify syntax error without testing the file in the server. So it saves lot of time time for the workers.
4) This editor supports all types of files to work on like PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, XML, JSP, ASP etc.
5) The editor provides inbuilt template design so user could use these templates for their design requirement and customize the template too.
6) The editor has lots of tools to create HTML pages with forms, tables, paragraph, etc.So. it is quite easy to create HTML page using this editor even for the beginner with out much knowledge on HTML.
7) The look and feel of the editor is very nice and trendy. It is user friendly and easy to navigate.

I am fond of this software and can not think beyond it as far as designing and developing work is concerned . It is equally useful for both the beginners and experienced designers and programmers . I sincerely recommend this software.
