This is one of those novels which is short and simple and this is why it manages to effect its readers in the biggest way.
The book prepares you for the ending to begin with saying what do you say about a 25 year old who dies, I really wonder without that sentence how much more heart breaking this book would have been. This book deals with love at several levels, the most basic being between the Oliver and Jenny, but outside that itself there are other levels of love, between Oliver and his dad being the greatest, both love each other dearly, but the son is always been growing up in the shadow of his Dad's achievements and keeps feeling that he must compete with his dad, and is too stubborn to accept that his dad loves him for who he is and only cares for his good.
Then you have the relationship between Jenny and her dad, who also has to face the loss of his daughter after having already lost his wife.
The book may sound like its all sad but it is one of the nicest books to read, and even though you'll end up in tears by the end of it you'll come away a better person.
