Dan Brown knows how to convert controversies into a great fiction. Though the story is completely fictitious however this is everyone's quest. I read on the actual IONS(Institute of Noetic Sciences) site, that he never ever visted capitol building in Washington, DC however this guy really does excellent homework before picking up Pen.
The speed with which the story spreads is so engrossing that you find it impossible to not think about the characters. There are though few similarity between Da Vinci code and The Lost symbol and simple reason being is they are almost exploring the same thing. Da Vinci was about Holy grail and now in The Lost Symbol it is about the Meaning of Life.
The few points what I liked are
a) Our spiritual books are the most enigmatic of all the enigma. For example even Gita doesn't tell you everything so simply. You require to put pressure on your brain.
b) In Gita Korav and Pandava's were positive negative polarities. this was the excellent piece as being Hindu I could never ever imagine but Dan Brown put that so simple and yet so away from simple brain.
c) Enlightenment is not for everyone. There are some pre-requisite only then you can get the ultimate power of this universe.
b) Power of thoughts, Noetic Science, Law of attraction etc, everything points to same thing that we are so much powerful and yet uneducated.
I recomend each and everybody to read it. Although I have read all of the books by Dan Brown and Till now I found Da Vinci and Digital Fortress to be best, but after reading The Lost Symbol, I can simply say, Dan Brown knows business and He has just started with The Lost Symbol.
Though climax is very much predictable however it is much of substance that make us think what we are avoid to think, OUR ULTIMATE QUEST.
