THE LOSS OF EL DORADO - A COLONIAL HISTORY - By V S NAIPAUL Maps, striking minute details and the usual style of the Master writer dealing with all data on suppressed HISTORY in a language that can be described to be '' PERFECT '' and straight from the heart.

The book basically has two main stories to it. The first section deals with the Search ending with the lookout for EL DORADO, the land of gold, the city of great fortune and mystery with stories connected to it that have been discussed as being MYTHS , of legends or events that have shaken up systems and caused changes in the way LAW has shaped up since centuries. The second part is dealing with the aspect of REVOLUTION, the area of SLAVE colony, the tortures to the slaves, the corrupt flawful and lawless system running ruins and pain all across the planes. The story has many links and twists and turns with details that could turn your head completely around.

The brilliant Author has through this book conveyed HISTORY at it's best, the story of pain, slavery, quest for greater power, colonization, sacrifices, dedication and GLORY at it's greatest levels.

Thus the quests have been described about colonies and people who were never spoken about much and who were in the lookout by few as they promised a land filled with richness in terms of wealth, land, power and GLORY and thus resulted being the centre of attention to those few invaders who did all that they had with the very little that they had, to attain and achieve their right on the LOST LAND AND PEOPLE by making them slaves and torturing them and doing all they could to succeed in their conquest for the MYSTERY LAND. So many lives and so many years were sacrificed for these quests.

About the Author : V S NAIPAUL was born on AUGUST 1932,in CHAGUANAS, TRINIDAD and became one of the most intimidating story and history reciter - WRITER, a British Novelist of Hindu Heritage. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2001.

The only reason I got the book from British council Library was when I saw the cover page saying : WINNER of Nobel Prize for Literature.... the book was very heavy as it has info and details that need too much experience and readings in scores to be made into a precise review. I read it twice and am planning to read one more time as it has so much to offer in terms of writings, attention to details, unknown history , oppression, pain, power and FAME spoken about in a manner which is heart stopping. Its a splendid read!
