The lone survivor is a true story of heroism, courage and survival. Lone Survivor tells the incredible tale of four Navy SEAL's on a covert mission to neutralize a high-level al-Qaeda operative who are ambushed by the enemy in the Hindu-Kush region mountains of Afghanistan.
Lone survivor starring Mark Wahlberg along with stars Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster and Eric Bana is truely spectacular movie to watch. The story revolves around the hard choices they have to make in the face of overwhelming enemy force. The action scenes along with the emotional scenes are truly great. They put their lives at risk by freeing a young boy knowingly that the boy will give away their position and call the terrorist for help.
The story starts with their life in the army base and the preparation they have to do to overcome exhilarating obstacles faced by them in war. The 4 man team was deployed near a village for a reconnaissance mission and keep an eye on their target. The number of enemy forces was in the 100's when they expected it to be around 10. They were silently keeping a watch when two young boys and an aged old man walked up the mountain to feed the herd of sheep. They silently snatch them and are forced to take a decision whether to release them or kill them. Releasing them would compromise the mission as they would call for help.
But after a furious conversation and debate between team members decision was taken to release the villagers by the team leader. Thinking that it would take the villagers quite some time to reach back to the village and they would call for rescue helicopter and be long gone by then. But one of the boys was so fast in running down the hill that he literally reached the village in a matter of few minutes and their communication equipment didn't work in the Afghan mountains. As a result the team got caught up in a fire fight with the terrorists. They fought with all their brains and heart but since they were outnumbered the team members got injured and died one by one. The rescue squad called by them in the action gets struck with an RPG fired by a terrorist. Instantly a huge no of soldiers die in the helicopter crash.
Finally only Mark Wahlberg survives the gun fight and receives help form a local. They medicate him and help him in all possible ways. He calls for help and at the same time the terrorists attack the village. The villagers didn't back down from the fight to save Mark and after some action and few deaths the US army reaches the village and kills all the terrorists within a matter of few minutes with their attack helicopters, better guns, rockets and much more. At last Mark is saved as he expresses his gratitude to all the villagers that saved him.
The action scenes in the movie are surreal and the scenes where the team falls from the afghan mountains would drop your jaws wide open along with Mark trying to remove a metal shard from his leg is just super intense.
Truly, this movie is just too good and beautiful to miss. Watch it guys and surely you'll thank me later. Peace out!
