After having owned a LML Select for 6.5 years, was excited to know the launch of bikes from the same guys. Though there was a very high risk factor as the co. was entering a different game altogether, the essence of loyalty & confidence made me choose this bike (Energy, not FX) in Feb 2001. This one's a cool bike, with no frills (disc brake, elec start, flasher, halogen bulb, side-stand indicator, etc), though the later version had most of these. The plusses - bike is real sturdy, continuing the tradition what the LML scooters followed. The looks are good especially the chrome plated front panel, dual-horn gets a good response (which became common in newer bikes later), breaking is superb even in absence of disc brakes, easy start with just one/two kicks (have never used the choke lever in the last 2.5 years), very smooth gear shifts, the handle is ideally located & gives the feeling of a big bike when u sit & lastly the thumping sound of the engine (not seen in other bike in any class ......except the very old bullet) & lastly the higher back seat (my wife hates it, though she cant do much about it), The only main minus in my opinion is the pickup. This is a real let-down especially in the 2nd gear & also when u have a pillion. It just doesnt budge when u really want to zoom past a snail-like traffic. In all a very decent contender in its class & was very soon followed by a FX version which was modified after learning a few lessons from the earlier version. Such as lowered seat height, higher cubic capacity & torque, flash lever for overtaking, disc brake option, self-start option to mention a few & yes some new trendy colors. Now, there are new models in the pipeline in the range of 150-200cc, which am eagerly waiting for. And with the launch of Freedom, which I feel is definitely the best compared to other bikes such as Splendor, Passion, Victor, Caliber & Challenger, LML has increased its confidence levels in the market. If they can meet the same with their high end offerings, I feel that these products would be the best in the market.
