Lg Optimus G pro, one of the best phablet in the market but truly an unsung hero. I am not a person who keeps changing my phone every 2 months, so I wanted to stick to a really good phone which would fulfil my needs and so I started researching. I was using a galaxy s3 before and I wanted a phablet this time so my final options were galaxy note 2, Optimus G pro and nexus 5(not a phablet but still an awesome cheap high end beauty). Almost everyone suggested note 2 as  the optimus G pro wasn't that popular  in india, its still not. But after seeing countless reviews I decided to buy the optimus G pro, am not saying the note 2 is bad, its a brilliant phone but G pro beats it any day(sorry Samsung fan-boys). I dont plan on using a stylus so it was G Pro, better display, better specs. I am not going to sit and compare the two sets, I just want to talk about the G pro. The funny thing is, when I compare this phone with the note 3, I can only see a slight difference performance wise and a bigger screen by .2 inches and almost 10-15k more in price. Anyway lets come back to the G pro

The phone has a beautiful FullHD 1080p 401 ppi 5.5 inch display. 2 gb of ram, a Snapdragon 600 Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 cpu, Adreno 320 GPU, it has all the needed sensors, a 13 mp camera with 1080p video recording. There are three reasons why I opted this phone instead of a Nexus 5. Firstly I need a removable battery because I plan on buying the 9300 Mah ZeroLemon battery from Amazon, even if it makes the phone bulky, the phone easily lasts two days on heavy usage on that battery.

Secondly the expandable memory, I am using a 64gb sd card apart from the 16 gb internal which gives me more than enough space for my stuff and lastly the bigger screen. If you need even more space, this guy supports usb OTG, so plugin your usb stick and enjoy. Even-though it has a massive 3140 mah battery, it seems to drain quick(not that quick) on screen-time mainly because of its big screen so id rate its battery as average to above average, but it charges extremely fast then again there is ZeroLemon 9300 mah on amazon which lasts forever on heavy use. I haven't experienced any lag while using this phone. Even the most graphic intense games like nova 3, asphalt 8, epoch works flawlessly. I have installed a ton of apps and games yet everything is smooth. The speaker is loud but average in clarity as are the speakers of  most of the phones with the exception of HTC one's stereo speakers which are awesome.

The biggest negative that I can come up is the update, LG tends to ditch their phones, flagship or not, they just don't update their phones. Despite releasing such beasts like the G pro, they just don't update it, the phone still runs on 4.1.2 Jelly Bean but do not mistake me I am satisfied with the stock rom they have provided, it is feature rich, its just that sometimes I feel like experiencing the latest android with the latest features. On the stock rom, some of the awesome features the G pro has are the Quick Remote. Using the IR blaster of the phone, it can control almost any device in your house. You can add any number of devices, I have used my phone on my samsung tv, the dvd player and even on my  Asianet(Local Cable operator) Set Top Box which was surprising. Other than that it supports NFC, wireless charging. A quick button on the left which u can assign to any app, I keep it on camera. Then Miracast, Slimport support - Connect it to a tv using A slimport and an Hdmi cable, Smart sharing where u can stream your videos and pictures directly to your tv if your tv has a wifi and the list goes on and if you really want to experience the latest android(kitkat), there are a myriad of Android 4.4.2 Custom roms on the internet which you can flash into your phone. The Gpro custom development is pretty active.

This phone has whatever I need in a phone, I don't need that extra 2.2ghz from the 1.7 and 3 gb ram in the newer devices, I don't use any app that needs that much juice. Honestly everything runs smooth already and I use a lot of apps and games. Unless you install all those synthetic benchmarks and see the big differences in the numbers when u compare it with the latest phones, you wont notice any differences in your day to day use. so I plan on keeping this phone unless there's a new phone on market which has a tremendous difference like a 4 ghz cpu with a 5gb ram or some must have cutting edge high tech feature which cant be missed. Until then my dear gpro,

I am not going to let you go, unless of-course it conks off or gets stolen or gets lost.
