We bought an LG Fridge( LG 260 L 3 Star Inverter Linear Double Door Refrigerator GL – T292 SP Z3) from Amazon on 25.12.2020. Due to Covid, we were not able to shop outside and hence bought this model after a thorough google check and ratings. Amazon did an amazing job of delivering it to us in One day and it was a very good experience on the purchase at that point in time.
Now on 31st July, The refrigerator stopped cooling all of a sudden and we raised a complaint to LG’s online support, which is a Third-party service provider. The lady could not even speak English or Kannada Properly and she responded most of the time in Telugu. Our complaint was assigned to an Engineer far away from our place who refused to visit and insisted on diverting it to a different area support near to us.
It took almost 3 days follow-up to divert the complaint to a service provider and finally an Engineer was assigned on 05.08.2023. The Engineer, Mr. Raghu Mogaveera visited our Home, checked and told us there is an issue with the PCB & Gas-Recharge and he directed it to a different Gas Recharge Team. He could not give us an estimate and informed us to be in touch with Divya & Area Manager Asif to address this complaint further. Both of them did not pick the call the whole day and we were left in lurch for the next couple of days . On 08-08-2023, Asif informed us that the Gas recharge team has been informed and they will take another 8-10 days for them to attend the complaint.
Only after they assess, they can give an estimate and nothing can be done from their end till then. In these modern days, how does anyone expect to do their house-hold chores without a refrigerator for more than 10 to 15 days? LG or their service provider has no concern for this. As a back-up, we arranged an Urban Clap Engineer to check the Refrigerator, who came within an hour after booking, checked and informed that the PCB is working fine. it is something to do with the motor which can be rectified only once he opens the sealed portion of the compressor which will void the warranty of 10 years as per LG’s Norms. We had to send him off without touching it and again continued our long Battle of follow-up with the LG service Team.
Mean-while, we have now on 07.08.2023 bought a Panasonic Refrigerator to solve our day-to-day house Chores. The clause of 2 years warranty and a company assured service Team is allowed us to take the decision for the purchase.
Still fighting with the LG 3rd party Tech Support to get this rectified. Let's see how far it goes, will keep updating on the Event, and shall continue with new updates.
Let this info help new Buyers to take a decision on the service part of LG. Life’s not very good with LG.
