This review is specific to the model: "Lenovo Tab M10 HD 2nd Gen(10.1 inch/4GB/64GB/Wi-Fi+LTE)
With WFH(Work From Home) becoming the new norm and your kids being at home too, attending their school and classes online - having something with big screen has become mandatory for all of us.
For long, my daughter attended her classes using a mobile phone with a small screen, which started causing strain on her eyes, plus we had to dedicate one of our phone's during her Google Meet - so the need for buying a Tab became necessity.
Again, like my last "phone purchase analysis" I started analyzing Tabs online on shopping portals. After initial reading and study, I decided I wanted to buy something with min 4GB RAM, min 64GB HDD, min 10.1 inch screen & budget under 15k. I was ok to purchase either with calling or no calling.
I would say 90% of the Tabs available were from brand: Lenovo. So - Lenovo it was for me. A few options that I looked for were: Lenovo M8 4th Gen, M8 2nd Gen, M10, M10 FHD & Panasonic 8HD.
Of the above I really liked the M10, which was under 10k, but having only 2GB RAM and 32GB HDD - the other within my budget of 15k was M8 4th Gen - it had 4GB RAM & 64GB HDD however the problem was its screen was 8inch only - what is the point of buying a tab if its screen is 8" only?(even though M8 Tabs have a better Cam of 13MP).
So, finally I settled in for M10-2nd Gen/4GB RAM/64GB HDD/10" screen with MediaTek Helio P22 Octa Core processor, 8MP Rear and 5MP Front cam - showing 16999/- as selling price on Amazon - with discount it cost me 15999/- slightly above my budget.
So, far I am a satisfied customer - it offers full HD viewing, comes with Android 10(which is a standard), ROM can be expanded upto 256GB(which is again more than enough for a student), battery is standard 5000mAh, it uses a USB C-type charger(so if you don't already use one, you will have to carry it separately specially for this tab, whenever you travel with the tab) & it has 4G calling facility with nano sim slot.
My take - best within 15k tab(may sound a bit expensive and I think 13k would have been a best price bracket for it), however, excellent for a student with some entertainment purpose, Audio/Video quality - no issues, battery gets drained a bit faster(at least I felt so), performance is as expected with a 4GB RAM, you should also not overload it with unwanted apps. Not tried gaming as we don't intend to use it for that purpose. Photo quality - same as what you would expect from a 8MP cam(for someone already using a phone with 64MP cam, would definitely feel its not at par).
Some people complain that the screen size is not 10.1" and in reality its 9.5" only - this is because the screen size is measured diagonally, so if you do that you will see its 10.1".
On Amazon, it has a rating of 4.2.
PS: If you want to purchase a screen guard or cover for it, please use the exact model No. while buying it, for instance it will be something like x306x - you can find this at the back of your tab. If you buy simply based on screen size there are chances that it will not fit your tab.
