So here's my honest review on Lenovo Legion 5 Pro which I have purchased about a month ago, I'll share with you everything about this laptop from its specifications to performance and all the detailed stuff and the reason why I bought this laptop and why I bought it and where you could get it from so it helps you make the right call.
So, first of all, let me tell you the specifications of the model that I have bought.
Legion 5 Pro
RAM: 16GB DDR4(82, 3200 mHz)
PROCESSOR: 5th Gen AMD Ryzen 7 - 5800H| Speed: 3.2 GHz(Base) - 4.4 GHz(Max)| 8 Cores| 16 Threads| 16MB Cache.
DISPLAY:16" QHD(2560x1600) Dolby Vision| Wide Quad with 16:10 Aspect Ratio| IPS Technology| 165 Hz Refresh Rate| 500Nits Brightness| 100% sRGB
GPU:RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6 at 130W TGP
STORAGE: 1TB SSD
So now I'll move to the Pros and Cons of this laptop
PROS:
1) PERFORMANCE: The performance on this thing is unbeatable and there is no other laptop that beats it here except maybe those super expensive alienware laptops. The reason is simple it comes with maxed out GPU which has 130W TGP(total graphics power) and to those who don't know what it means, basically TGP is the amount of power your GPU draws to give you those mind blowing graphics and it ranges from 85W to 130W and ONLY Legion 5 and Legion 5 Pro has 130W GPU. Another reason is the processor which is Ryzen 7 octa core and has 8 cores and 16 threads which can also help with good video editing and stuff apart from gaming also.
2)BUILD QUALITY: The build quality is just super amazing with minimum or nearly no top lid flex and also keyboard flex.
3)DISPLAY: The display too is amazing, it's a QHD display with 100% sRGB and 500 nits brightness and has super lovely viewing angles and also comes with 165Hz refresh rate.
4)LENOVO SUPPORT AND WARRANTY: When I brought this laptop I got total 3 years warranty from Lenovo as Lenovo had some offers going on. Otherwise, normally they have 1 year standard warranty and you have to take extended by paying 15,000 to 30,000 INR depending on where you purchase from and current offers.
5)THERMALS: This thing just doesn't heat up as promised by Lenovo. Coldfront 3.0 as they call it.
6)RGB: This is just my personal preference or taste and that is the RGB lights don't strike your eyes totally when using this laptop in dark but they're not too un-noticable as well. They have given thought to it and I love it. ROG has such strong RGB lights that they totally stand out and strike your eyes in dark and it's a hindrance at least for me.
CONS:
1)PRICE: This depends entirely on you and your finances but a lot of people will find it a bit hefty price considering you can build at better PC at the same price if portability is not a must for you. For me, portability was a must and I could afford it so I went for this laptop only.
I guess that's it with Pros and Cons now I'll tell you where you could buy this laptop and where I bought it from.
So you can get this laptop online on Flipkart or Amazon and would cost you approximately 1,42,000 to 1,45,000 INR. Or you can get it from some local store or Lenovo stores and prices there are gonna be similar.
I brought this laptop from a Croma Store because I was getting the best price there which was 1,39,000 INR and also they gave me the laptop in just 2 days.
Now I'll give you a more idea on why I brought this laptop and maybe it will help you make the right call too.
So I'm an Architecture student and a laptop for me was a must otherwise I would have gone for a PC instead. So apart from my Architectural work I also wanted a laptop that could handle gaming as well as I love gaming. So I looked for a lot of options and discarded a lot of them because of various reasons like initially I thought of Asus TUF dash A15 or F15 but discarded because of low TGP GPU and poor display. Then I settled on HP Omen 15 but couldn't get it because HP stopped its production and its stock was over. Although Omen too had some issues with its hinges being of a bit poor quality and screen used to wobble a lot and overall build quality was low too but it had good thermals.
So finally I saw Legion as the perfect choice because it had literally no downsides, it had the best display, the best GPU, processor etc. So I went ahead and took it.
