I was a regular at a beauty parlor for so many years that I had never given changing the place a thought.I used to get all my hair cuts, facials, manicures, pedicures, almost every beauty treatment at that place. It was only after my marriage, I decided to give Lakme a try. Normally at my regular place a budget of 1000 would get me my facial, bleach, pedicure, manicure, henna and Threading done. So when I heard that Lakme billed 1000 for a facial, it was too much for me to digest. Anyway I decided to give it a try.
How did it all start??
I have had around four haircuts until that point of my life. I dont remember the ones in my childhood but other than that. I have Wavy medium smooth hair and that meant wrong cuts would end up in disasters. Every time I wanted my hair layered and first time, I got my hair chopped up to an atrocious above the shoulder length with bushy layers that was not even seen with some flips in the front...the only thing I was missing was a lollipop. Seriously!! Second time they gave me an ABBA cut and the third time, my hair was so short that I was not able to pull it back. So when I heard about lakme I decided to try it out. I did not know what they were and how they were. This was suicide. I got on the chair and she handed me a book.
I pointed to a layered cut and made it clear that I wanted long layers but didnt want my hair to go short. She told me that the hair would look limp if she didt cut off enough hair. I decided to go ahead and told her to do whatever she wamted to do provided she stick to a layered hairstyle. So finally after so many snip snips, and so many fall offs that made me cry, I was introduced to my new look.
It was perfect!!!! I mean I never had such a beautiful hair style.... It was just as I had picturised in my mind, The layers wre long, they were wavy and right for my hair. I felt like giving her a hug although I thanked her and left.
My first facial and beyond:
I never knew what a facial was, I was doing shehnaz since time immemorial and I had never stopped to ask what suits my skin. When I tried my luck with Lakme, I chose an instant lightening facial. I was escorted to a private room and it was heaven. They gave me all the attention and the facial was relaxing and the massages were fantastic. The result was what the facial claimed.... It did lighten my skin tone.
But I have never been a big fan of fairness melodrama, so the next time I was there, I asked them what would suit me and they gave me an option for instant glow since it was before a function. Coming back my husband complimented me on my shining skin.
The next time and a regular now is the sunsafe facial. It removes pimple marks, and tans completely and its is quite effective. It is not any fairness treatment. It detoxifies and makes your skin vibrant all the while removing the tan from your face, making it look brighter, and giving out a healthy glow!!
The ambience:I loved it... The interior was exquisite. The facials are done in a private room. The dim lights and the mild music and the relaxing massage is a perfect break from the tensions of life and you wouldnt even know drifting off to sleep. Its an experience and it all ends up in healthy glowing skin.The place is really neat and nothing would disgust you in the vicinity.
The staff: They were extremely nice and friendly. They helped me with my facials, and made me feel at ease. They have never been rude or impolite that you would love walking in that place.

They are adamant about appointments and always do their best to arrange one for our convenience... For people who complain about the appointment system, please understand that this is why they can give you more time and this is why they are able to offer us such incomparable service.....

Recommendation??
Of course without a further thought, its the best salon you can step into.... but I do think and is a personal opinion that spending money in Lakme for pedicures or manicures is not worth it. Its not that they are not good but you can get these done for a cheaper price else where. Anyway I promise you that they would bring out the best in you and I can guarantee you for that.....
