In today’s world, Gandhiji’s values and ideals have been overshadowed by violence, corruption and deceit. People sought non-violent means to resolve their disputes. Countries are fighting each other for material and territorial gains. Destruction and chaos are prevalent in each and every part of the world. Gandhiji’s principles have lost their existence in today’s world.
Rajkumar Hirani’s “Lage raho munna bhai” strives to revive the values and principles of Mahatma Gandhi in the hearts of the people of India. The film educates the young generation about the principles of non-violence and peace. The film gives out a message that disputes and problems can be solved by resorting to non-violent means.
Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) meets the ghost of Mahatma Gandhi in the film. They both work together to solve the problems of people who are not able to find solutions to their problems. The film is a perfect blend of Gandhism and Bhaigiri, garnished with the element of humor. The comedy pair of Munnabhai and Circuit (Arshad Warsi) once again wins the hearts of the audience. Their perfectly timed comedy scenes entertain the audience to a great extent.
Jhanvi (Vidya Balan), Diya Mirza and Sanjay Suri play small but significant roles in the movie. Sanjay Suri plays the role of a boy who is not able to face his father because of his misdeeds. Diya Mirza plays the role of Lucky’s daughter. Jhanvi plays the role of a radio jockey and manages an old age home. Lucky Singh (Bouman Irani) plays the role of a witty sardar who gets involved in a dispute with Munnabhai. Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) has done complete justice to his role. Circuit (Arshad) once again proves his comic talent in the movie.
The central theme revolves around the principles of Gandhiji. The film is full of emotions and humor. The dialogues are patriotic and heart touching. The music is popular and entertaining.
The film is a complete entertainment package. It is a great blend of drama and romance. It gives out a strong social message. Social vices have been attacked in the film. The film is recommended to people of all ages who want to have fun.
Personally, I like the movie and the strong message it gives out. I got an oppourtunity to learn more about Mahatma Gandhi and his principles with the help of this movie. It is a must watch....
