Having eaten at La Casa, Sarjapur Rd, I was looking forward to visiting the Jayanagar outlet since its closer to home.
But the two places are quite different in terms of food and ambience. I am no longer sure if they are part of the same chain.
This is a very Casa Piccola/Friends kind of ambience. Tables close together, dim light. The menu is a mix of Indian, Chinese and some pasta/pizza/sandwiches thrown in for good measure. They only server beer in alcohol.
The food is served in generous portions. We ordered a salad and a garlic bread starter and my wife opted out of the main course straight away. I ordered a chicken burger for my main course. The patty was deep fried and had too much spice for my liking. I was able to remove chilli pieces from it!
The chicken on garlic bread was nice and the Thousand Island salad was avg. The fries were good. The beer was the best. Its been a long time since I have had good cold cheap draught beer in Bangalore and the beer here reminded me of the old Bangalore when pubs in the city centre would serve the true brew.
By the crowd, this place seems popular. Mix of youngsters, groups of guys and families. The service is fast but dont expect too much of customer orientation. My beer mug was promptly refilled but in stead of placing it in front of me, it was placed in the empty part of the table. Minor things like this will happen.
The price is a little too much for the food and the ambience. While the qty is generous, the pricing could have been better.
Good place to hang out with friends on a lazy evening over beer, fries and peanut masala.
