Kyunki Saas bhi . . . I have never seen a single episode of this show and have no intentions of ever doing so. So why am I thanking Ms. Kapoor? Read on..
Like 90% of the (older) female population of India, my mom is also addicted to this TV show and the many spin-offs / clones spawned by the likes of Balaji and other production houses that churn out such senseless trash, week after week.
I have no clue what the damn storyline is (if any at all). But I know there was once a stupid character called Mihir (played by some dumb-ass) who died (on the show) and then went and got himself a website ( http://www.mihiramarhai.com)!
And then there's some chic called Tulsi (played by a fat cow in a Sari), who is now the BJP's mascot. India is Shining indeed.
So now, I don't get to see my favorite shows (Everybody loves Raymond, Becker, Two Guys and a Girl, Titus) cos my mum can't get enough of the on-screen shenanigans of these Saas-Bahu types.
Thank you Ektaa Kapoor, for ruining my TV watching experience! It now truly is, the Idiot's Box!
