As we walked last night on the high street between Palm Beach Road towards the Seawoods Grand Central and saw the signage for Kurtosh, we were excited to try this new place.

Its been around for about 4-5 months and 2 tables on lower level and 3 on the mezzanine were nearly filled, so we parked ourselves on the bistro chairs near the window.

A large TV was playing a beautiful mash-up medley of popular Indi songs of the past that were wonderfully remixed.

The menu is displayed on the wall with well lit board and clear idea about the categories and prices with descriptive images.

The other wall has pictures about what Kurtosh is and how its history began, images of the conical bread cooked over charcoal and more.

Kurtosh is a hand rolled bread covered over a wooden cone spiral mounted on a skewer which is cooked over burning coal. In the restaurant however it is cooked in an oven with heating elements and guests can see their bread cone being baked.

Its a pay first, self service cafe, but small services are catered by the crew.

The menu includes Veg and Nonveg Kurtosh, Sweet Kurtosh, Rice and Gravy combos, special beverages and some branded aerated beverages too.

We started with a Thousand Chicken Kurtosh and a Chipotle Potato Kurtosh to see both varieties.

It was very nice, served hot in branded cone covers.

Also ordered a Coolberg Peach flavored drink.

Then we ordered a Rice Combo of Herbed Veggie Rice with Chicken Goulash. Lots of herbs and vegetables in the rice, and nice rich sauce for the chicken goulash made for interesting dining.

Courteous hospitality was appreciated, hot n fresh food was very welcome though it just seemed a wee too long for food ( mains) to get ready, but the wait was well worth.

Total for 2 Kurtosh, 1 Beverage, 1 Rice-Chicken combo was Rs 700/-

Great new concept and different experience of trying Hungarian Bread street style food, right here in Navi Mumbai was amazing.
