KARAN JOHAR first things first, i would like to wish karan johar the very best & thnk him for writng such a beautiful movie. it came as a surprise to the audiences, cause he's known for his mushy- mushy, hindi movies.this time he has really amazed everyone from K3G types movies to kurbaan(but the"K"factor remains the same).the narration of Rencil Desilva kept everyone glued to their seats.
Beleive me when I say we didin't go out even for popcorns, inspite of the lenght of the movie.saleem suleymaan's music is as usual good, but there was not much scope for it, as this movie is on such a hardhittng subject.kurbaan hua remix & it's promotional video is awome.ahsaan khan(saif )woos avantika both are professors &goes to new york with her as she doesn't want to leave the oppurtunity to work in a uni thr. they boght a house in indian neiborhod.
Then came the twist that ahsaan is a terrorist who belong to the gruop of afgani&pakistani jihaadi's, riyaaz(vivek) girlfriend who's one of the membrs of american press delegates who were going to iraq was killed by this gang, he then decided to get her justice, although many a times it reminded me of the movie NEW YORK, especially when riyaaz plants himself in ehsaan(saif's) house.evryone including ompuri.kiran kher, dia mirza gave splended performances.
Although I feel that the steamy scenes between saif & kareena were unnecesary, but I guess that is to cash the chemistry of a real life couple.this movie has some very intense moments(like class discussion about muslims and americans & bullet injury scene.the term muslim fudamentalism is dealt very differently and from there point of view this time. i think the director went too far in the begining showing the young professors smooching in staff rooms, secondly it feels very strange that how can a group of terrorists who are on such crucial mission, can be so careless of leaving there backyard door so easy to access.
But the movie has given beutiful insight to the mind set of a suicide bomber, picturisation of blast victims and stories of afghan immigrants is heartfelting.in the end it leaves us with a question that the jihaadis who r out ona mission to save the dignity and loss to there families are wrong or the powerful nations who declare war, &say sorry when they find no nuclear weapons and use these countries for the resources.on one hand we feel sorry for people of iraq & afgaanwhere innocent people got killed and young kids got maimed, on the other we aslo feel bad for so many innocent western citizens who because of faulty leaderships got killed in terrorist attaks like 9/11 .it's a topic of debate I guess....
