Not recommended. Review on Kothari Packers and Movers

I want to share a very genuine experience I had with Kothari Packers and Movers recently while I shifted from Maharashtra to Orissa. I have known Kothari Packers and Movers since 2022, when I moved all my belongings from Alibaug to Karjat. I have recommended them to a few of my colleagues to shift their household from Maharashtra to another state, and their experience was also bad. Then, also depending on my first experience, I have chosen Kothari Packers and Movers again.

I will tell you that I was absolutely wrong about choosing their services this time. The person has mobile numbers 981992xxxx, 740042xxxx, was contacted, was very polite, quoted 48k with sharing transportation, packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking, and I agreed with the quotation.

They picked up all the items from my Karjat location on May 5, 2024, in the afternoon and also committed that household items should be reached at my new address within 3 to 4 days. They were supposed to unload and load the items at Vivandi on May 5, but they did not do that. My household items were loaded in another truck and started from Mumbai on the 8th. After many calls to the contacted person, he finally shared the driver's name and truck number. I have started coordinating with both of them.

On the 12th, the driver said they had reached Bhubaneshwar and he was out for delivery, which was absolutely incorrect. When he did not deliver until late in the evening, I called him to know the status, and he said his truck was seized by the company where loading and unloading happened because a few boxes were missing from the truck and did not match the waybill, and he is not at Bhubaneshwar, he has been 200 kilometers away.

I started calling them very often to understand the delivery time and date, and the driver stopped picking up my calls. Then the contacted person's role starts. He said there was no need to worry; all items are safe and will reach me in the next 24 hours, but finally, I received the household items on May 18, 2024, after many calls and fights with them over the phone. I want to thank the driver for delivering my household because he did a favor by loading all my household items from the truck that was seized and was standing at a depot. However, they were supposed to send the labor to unload the truck, but we were only forced to arrange labor by ourselves at 9 p.m. in the evening to unload the truck. They also asked me to pay the labor charges, which I have paid.

When I started unpacking the items, I observed that there were many damages. I called the person and was informed that I had an insurance policy, so how can I claim it? He said the insurance policy is only valid for up to 7 days for what I had paid 3000 around for a cover of 150000.

I have written the entire story to share my experience with Kothari Packers and Movers. They take the responsibility until items are picked up from your house; since then, there have been a lot of changes you may have seen in their behaviors and dealings. They will ask you to pay 50 percent in advance during packing and the rest 50 percent at the time of unloading, but as soon as they pack and pick up the items from your home, they will claim 100 percent advance, or else the items will remain with them.

I am attaching the photographs to help you understand how they transport the items and in what condition they deliver them. Overall, bad packers and movers transport the household, and no one should trust them. No one should use them if you want to keep your items safe.
