I will STRONGLY NOT recommend this hotel, ‘Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’ to anyone
I would have given negative 10 rating but there is no such option available.
I visted this place on 18th Oct’17 2pm & Checked out on 19th Oct’17 morning 10am.
Pls read my entire detailed review & feedback for both ‘Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’ & its owner Amit Gaikwad. I know this is little long but it is worth reading instead of blindly wasting your TIME, ENERGY & MONEY in these kind of CHEAP hotels.
The place is surely not suitable if somebody is travelling to enjoy their holiday with family or friends. It become the spoiler of our trip. This place is too far from Dapoli & at very remote location, from Pune it is 250 Kms, 7 hrs of travel time(Route followed Pune – Hinjewadi – Mulshi – Mangaon – Mahad – Khed – Dapoli, as recommended by hotel owner)
After reaching there we were allotted an AC room, where AC was not working. We were sweating like a hell due to humidity. Room was very congested & when we opened a room it was stinking like a public toilet. Cleanliness was not maintained. We kept our room’s door opened for couple of hours to get the room with fresh air in & ventilated. AC was already dead & fan too was not throwing any air.
Overall room condition was pathetic with, Broken non-working Electrical Switch Board, Broken/Cracked Room Door, Insects, lots of Mosquitoes(entire night we were not able to sleep) & WILD SPIDERS(Pictures attached). Bathroom was stinking, with dirty mugs & bucket.
Here comes the main & second part of our Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’s worst experience. The quality of food served in the afternoon(when we reached) was PATHETIC. I ordered chicken thali & my wife ordered fish thali. They served me UNFRESH, HALF COOKED CHICKEN, UNFRESH PAPER ROTI & PATHETIC RICE(it was boiled rice which is normally used to prepare Idli & Dosa). A normal person cannot eat that rice, I returned the rice immediately after seeing it. And also I complained about UNFRESH, HALF COOKED CHICKEN. The waiter Nikhil verified the same & took back the same. But as we travelled for 7 hours continuously & I was feeling hungry, I already eaten 2 bites of chicken before returning(as I was not aware about the quality of Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’s food).
After 2 hours I was feeling uncomfortable, feeling like cramp in stomach, body ach & feeling like vomiting. At around 7pm, we went to search a doctor, after travelling for approx 30Kms we found one small clinic. Doctor examined & told I might have got stomach infection or food poisoning due to UNFRESH food which I ate at Konkantrip Beach Home Stay.
Immediately we decided to return back to Pune. I informed Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’s manager Nikhil & Amit Gaikwad owner of this hotel who stays in Pune regarding our same day return but as I had done booking for 2 days, Amit was not ready to listen our reason for return(which was bcoz of his food) & my health issue. He was more interested & desperate for his next day’s room rent as I was checking out in first days itself.
He was continuously asking me to pay room rent of next day, he was more interested in making money, instead of customer’s health, which was spoiled due to their dirty food. Amit Gaikwad told me to go & lodge a complaint to Food Safety Department but before that pay the next day’s room rent.
Secondly I told him that, with this health condition I cant stay here one more days that too without proper hygienic food & without AC in such a HUMID & HOT weather. But Amit Gaikwad was not ready listen anything. He asked me to manage food from nearby hotels(which are 20-30kms away) & for non-working of AC & fan, again he asked me to lodge a complaint to Electricity Board(MSEB) or take a legal action against him but asked me to pay the room rent of next day.
At that time My wife was very worried about my health & food for my four n half years old daughter, secondly we have to do 7 hours long return back journey to Pune. So she asked to give them full 2 days room rent(we stayed only 1 day) i.e. Rs.4000/-(2k per day). For such a POORLY maintained property they have kept a price of Rs.2000/- for a room. I paid them 100% payment without staying.
After seeing the property travelers will not agree to pay even Rs.500/-. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE EVEN IF YOU GET FREE STAY & FREE FOOD IN THIS HELL so called ‘Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’.
On the top of this, morning before leaving when we ordered breakfast(POHA), one other family who were having breakfast found some WORM in their Poha. And I found small COCKROACH in my tea which I complained to waiter Akshay. Without any apology or any reaction he took that tea back but they shamelessly billed me for that tea. We left our Poha & tea as it is & done our packing & left from this HELL stay.
Their food rates are as good as like 4 Star hotels/resorts but Quality & Quantity is worse than the road side tapri. Even roadside tapri is better than them.
Also these people were dumping their hotel wastes in beach, near their own temporary compound. This shows how these people are polluting the sea water. From my side I asked them to stop this pollution but these people don’t listen to anybody.
The ‘Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’ is so LOW STANDARD hotel that they don’t have single sign board on entire way/road or in their premises. Nobody in that area knows about this so called ‘Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’.
To reach this property, the last 80 to 100 meters are from hilly muddy up n down narrow track where my car base got damaged. They even don’t have proper plain KACCHA road to reach their pathetic property. After reaching Pune I paid Rs.3700/- to repair my car base/dents which got damaged due to these FOOLS who don’t even bother to make atleast temporary/Kaccha road to reach their property.
I really feel pity about the people who has given good reviews to this property. They may not even know what “GOOD” means. These reviews are misguiding people. Me & my family was also became a victim due these false reviews.
BEWARE: After reading such a detailed feedback/review about ‘Konkantrip Beach Home Stay’ & its owner Amit Gaikwad, if somebody still planning to visit this hotel, then you are taking a very big known risk & going to spoil your entire trip. For more feedback & details you can call me on 07020705711
