I dont know about you but I certainly am very much a soup person. A dinner meal without a soup is,I feel, somehow a tad incomplete. My Chinese friends tell me that too the Chinese a soup is a very important ingredient or element in a classic Chinese dinner, the Thais too love their soups, as do the French, the Russians and there are also some great Indian soups as well. Whilst home made soups are usually the best sometimes we have to make do with a tin or packet of soup and I find Knorr to feature among the best of the commercially available packet soups.
Knorr make a wide range of soups and they are widely available. Among their highly popular offerings are the likes of Mushroom, Sweet Corn, Tomato, Cream of Chicken, and Hot and Spicy Soup. I believe in India they cost around Rps 22 and here in Malaysia they cost around RM1.75 to RM2.00 depending on the type.
They are a breeze to make. Add hot water, stir and slowly heat. Sometimes I add a little cream or tinned milk, some parsley as a garnish and often some croutons. Hey presto in a matter of minutes I have a piping hot soup to devour.
Soups are, I feel, quite nutritional and healthy and they are not that fattening. At the same time many of the Knorr varieties are quite tasty - perhaps not quite as tasty as Mums- and as mentioned earlier are so easy to prepare.
Bon Appetite
