Kingfisher Red – the real king of good times
A king is always a king. These days we hear a lot about kingfisher airlines / kingfisher Red in trouble, making losses and so on. However I had a great experience flying Kingfisher Red last week.
There were two flights
About Flight no.1:
Sector: Jabalpur to Delhi
This is a very convenient time to catch a flight where you ca start at 11:40 am and reach Delhi at 1: 15 pm, do your work and catch any evening or night flight to another destination.
Since Jabalpur is not a very busy airport, only few options are available. Considering the number of passengers the boing 737 is not operational on this route. Only ATR aircraft ferries passengers on this route.
I was a little nervous flying in an ATR as I always flew in 737.
The air craft was well designed, nicely painted and looked good. The flight was on time and the best part is if you are near a wing, the view doesn’t get blocked because the placement of wings are above window.
The interiors:
Was good, clean and smelling fresh. Good elbow and leg room in spite of being a smaller aircraft. Clean seats, headrests and clean carpet.
Cabin Crew / Flight stewards:
The cabin crew give a warm welcome. Were polite, courteous and friendly. There was something about these hostesses. Not tired, not hassled and confident. Performed even the mundane / routine safety instructions with enthusiasm.
Cabin nonce:
It was bearable. You can hear captain’s announcement clearly.
Captain’s attention:
Captain was giving lots of information about outside temperature, altiMr_customtakeouter, cities and important attraction. As the flight goes over Agra & Rajasthan, we were delighted to spot Bharatpur bird sanctuary, Tajmahal and other places. We could clearly see Tajmahal and Yamuna.
Take off:
On of the most smooth take off and relatively stable flight, no sudden loss / gain in altiMr_customtakeouter.
In flight entertainment.:
We were able to see many attractions such as Taj atc so not realy bothered about books / magazines.
Food and service:
Sandwiches were good. Fresh and water was FREE :)
About Flight no.2:
Sector: Delhi to Pune
It was an 8:00pm flight.Again as mentioned above, most of the things were similar, Take off, Landing, Cabin crew, Interiors, cleanliness and everything was good. Gave all the information and the flight reached 15 min.s before schedule ( it was cruising at a high speed: 900 kms per hr. ) We reached at sharp 9: 40 pm.
In flight entertainment was good. They were offering small DVD screens with choices of movies @ rs. 150/-.
Chicken sandwich was good. Noodles were really bad.
All in all I am very happy with both the experiences. Hassle free, on time, courteous and thorough professionals.
Just go for it. Feel like a king :)
