The mess which I regularly eat at had installed a Kent Grand Plus(RO+UV+UF) water purifier of 8L capacity for the benefit of us, the customers. The owner got this after repeated requests cause we were forced to buy bottled water due to poor taste of the borewell water they used. He paid Rs. 15950 and got it installed for the local Kent dealer.
The water purifier never met expectations. The first week the outlet tap broke off. A few weeks later, the filter failed. In the next 6 months of use, the UV lamp had to be replaced twice. The RO filter had to be replaced every 3 months.
The service was also unsatisfactory. The purifier was not in use the majority of the time due to unavailability of the parts at the dealer. The mess owner was also losing patience and gave up on it for a while and we suggested he ask for a replacement. The dealer however refuted that the company has a'no refund' and'no product replacement' clause on their warranty, which means only parts can be repaired/replaced.
This was the limit. We are now back to our bottled water. It will be some time before we request our mess owner to go for a water purifier again. Maybe this time he can try one of the products from Eureka Forbes of Hindustan Unilever. Definitely NEVER to any other Kent product. Please rate my review and leave your comments. Cheers!
