Its one of the basic needs this day, if we don't have one than we cant store food for long, no ice-creams in our fridge, no cold-drinks nothing we say that food clothing and shelter are the basic needs but where can we store food? If there is no fridge then the food will get deteriorated and we wont get the vitamins and the nutrition what we expect.
Nowadays we can see refrigerator in every single house. One thing I've noticed over the years is that we never compliment our refrigerators maybe cause we don't understand the importance of it or either we have overlooked it at times. I would like to thank my refrigerator today for being there always and performing as it has over the past 30 years
Over two decade we have not invested much for its maintenance
This refrigerator was purchased by my mom dad after they got married in 1982, Since then the refrigerator has gone on and on as my mom dad relation. The best thing with the old brands were that they lived up to their name and brand recognition, but nowadays refrigerators hardly last over a decade.
My mom dad bought this refrigerator on account of the following stated advantages:
Durable and cheap: Obviously when someone says that the refrigerator has been performing from past 3 decades, itself speaks a lot about the product. There weren't much choice from which my mom dad could choose during the 1980's. There were some other brands too like godrej, philips etc but my mom dad preferred kelvinator master cool over those brands as it had a firm grip on Indian markets. The only issue that my mom dad faced while buying this product was the cost, they bought this fridge for 5000, which was a big amount at that point of time. Looking back I find that this product performed exceptionally well and lots of respect for kelvinator brand.
Alternate brands:
As mentioned there were good brand names like godrej, philips, videocon, etc which performed and had a good grip in Indian markets..and my mom dad were 1st interested in godrej brand name, but around the 1982's godrej had exported many of its refrigerators to foreign which were rejected so my mom dad refused to go for it and preferred kelvinator which too was a success in India. Philips and videocon also were in the race but kelvinator impressed my mom dad as many people also suggested them this brand. I still cherish the moment when they discuss about their past 3 decades and proudly say that this was the fridge they bought 3 decades ago, and the happiness on their faces makes me happy too.
Performer since last 3 decades:
From the time I was born I've never seen them investing much for the maintenance for the refrigerator..Just a few niggles here and there, that's it. My mom dad always keep saying that they haven't faced any issues with the product. And my dad always insists on kelvinator products, recently we purchased kelvinator food processor and the range of blades in it was awesome and very useful.
Now I come onto the advantages of this refrigerator:
Durable : As mentioned earlier this product has been around since 3 decades and it has been around so long without giving much issues and that what is noticeable
Low on maintenance : My mom dad have hardly invested for the maintenance of this refrigerator since 3 decades.
Low power consumption : As compared to the earlier days refrigerator, this one consumes less power and work with full efficiency.
Efficiency : This product is quite efficient and as low on maintenance hence performing the same since last 3 decades.
What a customer needs is:
Efficiency + Durability + Low maintenance = Value for the money and satisfaction
Ease of use and cleaning : This refrigerator can be dis-mantled and the cleaning can be done more easily, and as this product is very compact its easy to use also.
The best part is the compressor : The compressor of this fridge is the best among all the brands available and so its performing so good
The service and support was also good, as when we had any complaints about the fridge in warranty period they technicians used to resolve our issues.
Some disadvantages :
Minor shocks : This is happening since last 2 years, There is no proper earthing for the refrigerator and hence minor shocks are encountered at times, so touching the fridge with wet hands at copper area of the fridge can give u minor shocks, at times funny feel as the shocks aren't much risky
De-freezer spring issue : The window of the de-freezer has a spring for automatically closing the window once left, this spring gets spoil and the window of de-freezer falls down so the spring has to be adjusted multiple times.
Retro stylish looks : There are at times when retro stylish looks are trendy, but the retro stylish looks of this refrigerator does not impress me much.
These refrigerators are also available these days at selected outlets of kelvinator, Many high end series of refrigerators are also available.
There are series of kelvinator launched and can be viewed on their site..from 150 litres to 300 litres are the range available and the range is awesome and trendy and eye catching.
I would rate this as 5 star ratings and truly recommended by me, if u get a chance to buy this refrigerator please buy it, maybe the looks wont excite you but the customer satisfaction is great.
