A diffrent story. Review on Karthik Calling Karthik

If you believe in cinema that is different then watch this three hour long film Kartik Calling Kartik. This is the kind of story that normally have very few takers in India. Thanks to the multiplex culture Indian cinema is becoming more experimental. Now come over the film, the story revolves around a thirty plus hero Kartik (Farhan Akhtar) who is a loser in life. Everybody from his landlord to his boss and his colleagues bullied him. The girl (Deepika Padukone) whom he loves secretly does not even know whether he exists or not.

One day he was thrashed badly by his boss and fired from his job, he decides to suicide. At that time a phone call comes, the person speaking on the other end introduces himself as Kartik tell him to follow his instructions. This phone call changes kartik”s life .Now he is no longer a suppressed and shy guy. He gets back his job gets promoted and finds his love. He receives the phone everyday on the same time. The voice on the phone warned him not to reveal this secret to anyone.

Then one day he reveals the secret to his girl friends, and then starts kartik”s fall. He lost his job, money, girlfriend and everything he have had. Now whom is this voice calling Kartik. Does Kartik calling himself or it was his hallucination. Does Psychiatrist (Shefali shah) was able to treat him. What is multiple personality disorder?. Farhan Akhtar has given a wonderful performance as a Shy, loser,.Introvert guy. Deepika Padukone role could have been a little bigger. Ram Kapoor as a bullied boss performed is hilarious. Shefali shah in the role of psychiatrist disappoints. Movie does not have scope of music, though there are some songs in background. Director has not loosen the plot even for a minute.
