Karnala Bird sanctuary is situated 11 km from Panvel bus deport.you can stay in some of the resort at the base such as Shalom, K star, or Panoromic.The rates in the resorts are on the higher side almost Rs5000 per night. If people want to complete in one day they need to start early.The sanctuary starts around 7 AM and closed by 6 PM.The trekking is strictly avoided for Senior citizen, young kids & heavy people.it is very difficult to climb the steep hill and even more difficult to climb down.
The fort is 3 km from the base.and will take approx 2 hr of trekking to reach the top. it will take around 2 hr to reach back also.there are some nature trails which can be tried were in you can see some monkeys and birds.If you go buy the normal route the birds will be missed.
Take lot of water , cap for protection.
