A nice movie from Mani Rathnam after a while! Good direction(the location, art direction, photography was really worth mentioning) with a heavy story line. But as expected director and the story line shuffle as the movie was marching towards its climax. Understood, director has to balance the political twist and family drama. But that could have been handled better.
Music was good and visualization was too good.
Madhvan character is tried to play too straight but ended up good. Simran and associated characters were giving realism to the movie.
The magazine drawing illustrate mother about to leave her child, Madavan looking her foster kid from the window angles were some of the finest aspects of good direction mixed with good art direction and photography.
The young kid did extremely well.
A R Rahman and notably his Dolby Digital specialist Sridhar(he seems to be making Rahman music a different one from the rest) did their jobs extremely well.
