Kamal Haasan is truly one Innovative Artist Indian cinema has seen, there isn't anyone I can think of(Including Hollywood) who can quite accomplish what Kamal has, over the course of years. He isn't associated with a lot of Authentic Hindi movie so I am going to include remakes as well, to be fair to him but not Dubbed movies. So Here we go.
Zara Si Zindagi
This movie is a remake of Tamil movie by K.Balachander called'Varumayin Niram Sivappu'. Kamal portrays the character of an unemployed person trying to meet ends, wonderfully. Especially the part where he alongwith his friends pretend to have a feast behind the closed door to impress his girlfriend, the reality being they did not have anything at all. It's movie that turns from'Depressing' to'Hopeful' and conveys that idea that no profession is a shameful one.
Sadma
The performance of Kamal in this movie would probably end up in top 10 performances in Indian cinema. Most people like him for the depressing climax but I give credit to him for playing a nurturing person throughout the movie, trying to cope up with a mentally imbalanced person.
Saagar
Now this is a True Hindi movie. Many people say Kamal played a role of a'Loser' in this and I beg to differ, his performance was winner all the way. A vibrant person who loses the love of his life to another person brings back tears no matter how tough you are. The part where he wants to calm Dimple but is reluctant to touch her, is priceless.
Chachi 420
Another remake of a famous Hollywood(Mrs. Doubtfire) and Tamil(Avvai Shanmughi). Just for attempting to get into the skin of a woman character, he deserves kudos. He not only attempted but was immensely successful in it while directing the Hindi version.
Pushpak
In one of my reviews I mentioned since there were no dialoges in this movie, this can be considered as and Indian movie so I am going to use this for Hindi. Wonderful concept of targetting Global Audience paid of good for Kamal. I had an Italian Room-mate who was a film student and he just could not stop talking about it and that speaks volume about this movie made in 80s.
Later Folks.
