Another Himesh Reshammiya album after Kurukshetra. The song – a – minute composer has finally hit the marquee big time.
The title song is melodious with Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik doing the regular job of sounding good. ‘Savariya’ features Salman’s blue – eyed boy Kamaal Khan. Kitsch of sounds it is right up Reshammiya’s street. Eminently hummable and forgetful.
The Ab Ke Baras girl, Suneeta Rao and Kamaal Khan team for ‘Aa Meri Life’, a rockish ballad. Khan although has to try real hard to put on the attitude. Sounds a lot like a song from Ghaath. Inane lyrics that we would forget, but who cares?
Maria, Santana’s that is the basis for ‘O Priya, O Priya’. Nitin Mukesh, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Khan gang up on this one. An alaap is thrown in for good measure, but can one forget the original? ‘Dhin Tara’, a dance track opens side B. Fast and pacy it reminds of the other songs by Reshammiya in the past. You have a list to pick your choice.
Sonu Nigam and Yagnik’s ‘Pardesi' is a better number. The lyrics are non – existent as usual but it doesn’t hurt one’s sensibilities. The next two tracks are the title song and guess what? ‘Pardesi’. A parody, should we call it that ends (thankfully) the album.
A disappointing album to say the least. They might be on some lips but do you trust what everybody says? Or sings.
