Yesterday I watched Kahani, in spite of all the media hype, positive reviews, and the theatre was vacated, and there were hardly ten or twenty people in the auditorium. After spending two and half hour I came on a conclusion that one should never go to watch a movie by reading review and ratings.

So what Kahani is, it is very difficult to tell, the first and foremost thing was what the need in the story to carry a pregnancy by main actress. I noticed the pregency theory was only to make the climax solid, otherwise it looked totally absurd and illogical for women to roam in an unknown city, in crowded streets, climbing stairs like sportsperson by carrying a seven month pregency.

Well leave it, the director has tried to make it a suspense thriller, but from the scene one to climax the thrill element was completely missing. The story runs like a clueless tale, which nobody knows where it is heading and reaches on a deadlock. I like suspense thriller, but I dislike the facts of a story to be distorted just to keep the suspense. It sometimes looks like fooling the audiences.

Another thing is if it was a plain suspense story, why the cinematographer did unnecessarily forced the crowded scene of Kolkota Interiors. The film could have been shot in any city, and the story would remain same. I don’t think kolkota scene plays any development in the narration.

Climax seems to be forced one, the person to whom every one was chasing, his character was not properly developed, everything finish in one last scene, looks like director"s only motive was to shock you at the climex.

Regarding the acting, it was not a Vidhya”s best performance, however she got many chances in Kahani where director could explore her different shades, totally underplayed role. All the supporting cast was good but not excellent.

And finally there was so much fuss on music, but where was the music, not even a single song, even when there was a lot possibility of songs in background. So all and all kahani was over hyped movie.
