Kaante - a high budget film studded with half a dozen stars is definitely set to reach the skies. The plot of the film revolves around the bank robbery. The film is all about the six Indians (our six stags-Mahesh Manjrekar, Sanjay Dutt, Kumar Gaurav, Sunil Shetty, Lucky Ali & Amitabh Bachchan) who have some how reached Los Angeles and are very desperate to return to their mother country with a good amount of money, but hold a very bad reputation against the LAPD's (Los Angeles Police Department). For every small or big crime that happens in the city, the six are held for the remand by the LAPD. Frustrated by this act of the police department, the six plan to rob a bank - the bank which holds the accounts of all the employees of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The film scores a hundered out of hundered before the Intermission and a forty out of hundered afterwards. The reason being that the story proceeds with an extremely good pace before intermission but, becomes extremely slow after the Intermission.
The suspense that Who is the under cover cop amongst the six - glues the audience till the movie ends, as the suspense is revealed only at the end of the movie.
The performance by the stars like Amitabh Bachchan & Sanjay Dutt is mind blowing. Mahesh Manjrekar has proved himself to be a good actor, much more than he has proved himself as a director. I am sure that he would drag himself into acting more than directing after Kaante. The movie creates Humour out of Mahesh Manjrekar's role. Sunil Shetty's performance is ok. Kumar Gaurav & Lucky Ali do not have a strong role in the film.
Some of the dialouges specifically those spoken by Mahesh Manjrekar & Sanjay Dutt & a few item dances performed by Isha Koppikar & Malika Arora makes the movie viewable only with friends and not with parents or children.
Although, the story of the movie has been copied from some Hollywood Movie, I would still say that its worth watching it, atleast once.
