Go through the rules of hunting before going out into the jungle. Kaal is a horror/thriller movie produced by Karan Johar. Debutant Director Soham has done a fine job.
Krish(John Abraham) is a wild life expert working for NGC. He along with his wife Riya(Esha Deol) venture into Orbit park to find out the reason behind the mysterious killings of several foreign travelers and hunters. According to the jungle authorities the man-eating tigers are responsible for the deaths. Krish suspects that there is something fishy going on out there in the jungle. He decides to unravel the mystery.
Dev(Vivek Oberoi), Ishika(Lara Dutta) and their friends decide to visit a friend’s farmhouse but on their way their car breaks down. They take lift from a man named Bagga(Sunit Verma) who takes them to Orbit park instead of the farmhouse. The friends decide to go on a safari in the park. On their way they meet Krish and his wife who are stranded in the jungle with a broken car. They offer them a lift and all of them head for a guest house. They decide to spend the night there. The next day Dev’s friend goes out into the jungle to hunt a rabbit. He doesn’t return back. Later his dead body is found with marks of tiger claws. They also find the body of Krish’s driver. They all decide to leave the park as soon as possible. They lose their way and are surrounded by tigers. The tigers are about to attack when suddenly Kaali (Ajay Devgan) appears. The tigers retreat into the jungle when Kaali appears on the scene. From here starts the real suspense. Will Kaali help the friends to get out of the jungle? Will all the friends reach home safely? Who is the killer? Will Krish be able to solve the mystery? To get the answers watch KAAL.
The actresses in the movie were merely used as decorations. Vivek Oberoi, John Abraham and Ajay Devgan gave decent performances. Songs in Kaal are good. Shahrukh Khan and Malaika Arora did an item song together. Overall the movie is good but the climax scene is not up to the mark.
