the reason I became fanatictini was simply for one reason and that was for a colossal f fielding in the form of jonty rhodes. the first time I saw him onscreen unlike many people was when he ran ut inzy in the 1992 world cup and that's where the whole saga started.
jonathan neil rhodes became jonty rhodes. from that he became the best fielder in the world to the rubber man to what not. an inspiration for all the youths not only for bringing dynamism into cricket in the most neglected aspect of cricket in the form of fielding but he also became a success story as he battled it out with epilepsy and made a name for himself.
he's known to have many friends than enemies on field . the whole cricketing world admires the dedication and love of the game of this guy. he just plays it with so much fun, thrill and excitement. there's never a moment when you see Jonty not playing cricket with a smile.
if you guys see jonty rhodes see fielding you are watching one of the most brilliant forms of art. you just cant fathom how does this man make it happen. and he is so trusted and reliable that even in most other fielders cases people might question whether the catch was clear or not. but. if jonty's caught it , then people respect and just walk out like in the case of the famous sachin tendulkar catch which was later found to be grounded or brian lara's catch.
he makes cricket happening and well you might as well say that if you take out a brilliant catch well then you have ''pulled up a jonty in your sleeves''. sidhu was called by commentators ''navjot jonty singh rhodes'' when he fielded extravagantly. jonty is an ardent believer in Jesus Christ and he personally believes its his faith that has allowed him to bounce off all obstacles and become what he is today.
he lost a great friend in the form of Hansie Cronje. and was one of the very few people who actually had been there for hansie as a friend and trusting mate during his battle with match fixing. he said his friendship with jonty can never be broken, they have known each other for years and he thanks hansie for being there for him during his crucial times.
he gave up test cricket for spending more time with his family. he's got a baby daughter in the form of danielle whose so damn lucky as she's got a father who gives up his test career for her. people have respected his decision. as jonty said once - my body is bruised now im getting old, I dont believe im fit enough physically for giving my best shot to both the aspects of the game.
the sad thing is that i'm crazy and neurotic about this guy and i've always wanted to meet him. he missed the south african tour to india in 2000 when the whole match fixing saga broke out. he retires after the 2003 world cup and I just see the days passing by and the missed opportunities going.
yeah im tying out with the Britania offer and what not but the truth is that the government has lost my passport so all I can say is jonty i'm a great fan of yours . i've opened up a club in your name called ''Jonty Jonty Jonty Oye Oye Oye'' in indiatimes and its got 33 die hard fanatics of yours. I know its small in this huge world but atleast I made an attempt just like how you do even if you ave to save a run.
and yeah it would be nice if once in a while if you guys visited his site its called/ Where you can know his likes n dislikes and all sorts of stuff

does this man rock or what?
