A LONG WAY FROM ALWAYE

The hero of Jism has come a long way after the movie, and it didn't take him much time to become the style icon in the movie industry. There may not be any actor in Bollywood who managed to make an impact like this man. He just seems to be having the maximum number of fans these days, so that if some one looks too good, people just tells him that he looks like John!

His father Abraham John, used to be an architect in Alwaye (my home town, this is why people of Aluva like me have a tendency to grow long hair?), and his ancestral home in Alwaye is almost abandoned, as most of his relatives are abroad or out of the state. Well, even he is not fluent in speaking Malayalam, he can understand it.

Coming back to his achievements in the Bollywood industry, he started off his career with Jism opposite Bipasha Basu (who also happens to be his girl friend now) who had already made an impact for herself with ''Raaz''. They really had a great chemistry between themselves, and the movie did have a good run, thanks to some skin show, and also those beautiful songs, especially ''Jadoo Hai Nasha Hai'', in which John and Bipasha rocks as a pair!

His next movie was Saaya, supposed to be lifted from the Hollywood movie ''Dragon Fly''! Opposite him was Tara Sharma, and the movie gave him the opportunity to visit his home place, as it had many parts shot in Kerala, but the movie crashed in the box office, and it was followed by vAitbaar with Bipasha where he played a negative character, and also Paap (one of the movies which I would love to hate!) and Lakeer, all of these movies couldn't bring any light into his career.

But Dhoom was something exceptional for his career. As the movie was a mega hit, John earned maximum from it, even more than the hero of the movie Abhishek Bachan, as he was well suited for the role which he played, with those super bikes and all! John is a bike lover and he certainly looks the best with his bikes.

In this movie, he certainly played a negative character, but a solid, determined and smart thief! Now as the sequel to the movie is being filmed, it is really sad that there will be no John Abraham in it, as no one would have looked better in these kind of roles!

Movies like Elaan and Madhoshi did nothing good to his career. Karam was just above average and Kaal, a very disturbing movie! We saw him also in Viruddh, but he didn't have much of an opportunity in the movie, even if it was a sensitive, as well as sensible movie.

But the movie Garam Masala seemed to have brought him back strongly. In this movie, he proved that he can do the comedy in a pretty good manner. The Malayalam version of the movie, Boeing Boeing, starring Mohan Lal, is supposed to one of his favourite movies!

Zinda saw a real good performance from John Abraham. He was able to live in the role of the revenge seeking millionaire, and the movie did a good job at the box office. It was certainly a dark movie with a different theme (based on Old Boy), but John's another negative role succeeded here, and it was really great to see these type of movies in Bollywood!

After a special appearence in Shikhar, he had another good hit in the form of Taxi No. 9211. I was never impressed by the trailers, but his performance in the movie was nothing more than outstanding. He seemed to play his character of Jai, the son of a millionaire, with a certain amount of ease, and he looked good also in the song sequences, and he certainly had a few rocking dialogues in the movie. The combination of Nana and John proved to be a unique one!

THE FUTURE

He used to be a real good soccer player, and also has an MBA degree. His brother is an architect as his father used to be, while John Abraham is a real athelete! He has been the captain of a number of soccer teams, and due to his good body, there is no need to wonder about the fact that he is leading model and a famous actor in Bollywood with maximum number of fans that one could earn with such a short acting career! He is a vegetarian and got a special love for the Kerala food, ''Puttu'', ''Appam'' etc.

John Abraham has got a long career ahead of him, and his upcoming movies Salaam E Ishq, Kabul Express, Guru, Baabul and Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, are not going to be boring, because he is one of those actors who can attract the viewers with his looks itself, and as he has also got the acting skills, there is no doubt about the fact that he can be one of the best actors in the movie industry!
