The job of job sites is two fold. They take the profiles of various candidates to the desk of Hr mangers and bring varoius job offers to the knowledge of job seekers.
When it comes to the first function of maintaining the profiles of various candidates, the task is simple.More and more job seekers post their resumes on to such sites day after day.To accept sincerely, there are instances this service has yeilded results.HR managers have sent interview calls based on the profiles posted on such sites.
But consider the second function of bringing the dream offers to the desk of job seekers. It never appeared to me that job sites are successful in this area. The number of offers made by companies on job sites is very less. I have never seen an offer from a reputed company on any of the sites.it is here the placement agencies have creeped in.Most of space is filled by their offers. At any given point of time check Jobs ahead.com and you will find out of every 10 offers available 8 are made by placement agencies. And you know what an offer by a placement agencies meant. It meant it is collecting various resumes through this medium and is using it as advertisement.
After a few months of experience with various sites,I feel that though is wise to post your resume in the gallery of their resumes(god knows when it will be read by employers),it is of no use checking the varoius offers made on it. And I need not tell whether to utilise their paid services or not.
