According to a local radio jock, this is the ‘oh my god movie’
Jism is a totally vice filled movie. Everything purported as ‘wrong’ in the big world, is in the movie. You name it, they have it! everything from extramarital affair, fornications, lies, drinking, cheating, deceit, jhoot, boozing, arson, loot, lies, machiavillan plans, sinister thoughts, murder, alcoholism, embezzlement, smoking did I mention lies and drinking?(just off the record, the repetition was for emphasis)
A little something about jism (no no, I meant the movie duh!)
Produced: Pooja Bhat And Sujit Kumar Singh
Directed: Amit Saxena
Music: M M Kreem
Cast: Bipasha Basu, John Abraham
The plot
Kabir(john) is a lawyer in pondicherry who finds himself lured towards the only hot skin woman (coz you can see more of her skin than clothing) Sonia. She happens to be the wife of a rich businessman living alone and lonely in an opulent bungalow.
They see each other in a bar and the next thing they know, their hormones have overridden their senses, trivialized their responsibilities and they are in each other’s arms.
The two of them are then enlightened that they love each other(!)
gee what are the odds of that happening?
Hot luscious babe, voracious guy, what do you get? A perfect prospect for a Kabab. Only this one is with a haddi, the well-heeled hubby. So, oust anyone you despise.(wow that’s almost a USP now!) kabab se haddi nikal. How? Just bomb him yaar, gees don’t you read the newspaper?
Okay so Sonia gets kabir to kill her hubby, codicils her hubby’s will perfidiously, gets someone to kill kabir, who survives and confronts her only to be explained that it was his body and help she wanted and not love, he, by the way kills her in the bargain.
So ?
My point precisely!
My honest advice:
Infants, kids, teenagers, adolescents, adults, senior citizens, and octogenarians of both the sexes should stay away from this movie.
The way these two people succumb to something ephemeral and then fall in love is uncanny. The extent to which they can go to have each other, satiate themselves, all that they are willing to do in order to have each other and more importantly, covet wealth portrays human desire. Unceasing, relentless and never content, that’s us!
Performances:
Debutante John Abraham delivers his role well and in fact fits the role just perfect as a gelled moosy haired blemish faced hungry man, so did Bipasha Basu as an equally famished hot woman.(famished for money and you know what….)
After ajnabee, this movie vindicates Bipasha Basu as the next sex insignia in bollywood. She does make men get their hearts in their mouths. John manages to cry and yell well.
The music
Haunting, mind-blowing music. M M Kreem has done a great job creating a background score that accentuates the feel and essence of the movie to the tee.
Jadoo hain nasha hain and chalo tumko lekar chale are 2 totally seductive songs, sure to raise your hair on the edge
Shikayat hain is a completely painful song. The capturing of pathos in music is remarkable.
Aawarapan banjarapan is yet another beautifully sung, pain in the heart kind of song.
Singers shreya ghoshal, shaan, roop kumar rathod and KK get full 10 points.
the only relief feature is that this movie was not another slapstick comedy or a family story with people needing no reason to break into a song or a extensively stupid where a 8 yr old sets her father up with his old heartthrob. no elaborate incoherant foreign locales and this is a welcome difference. if only it had made more sense.....
