The first time I bought a Jio was on January 28. I ordered it on the website and it was to to be delivered the next day, January 29 at 12:40. The sim delivery was seamless. BUT the person who delivered/verifier I don't know what they're called. Who took my photo for facial verification on Aadhaar card sent it someone else. I don't know the process but that person on the other side of the phone asked what was she wearing to that this delivery man/boy said she's wearing a shirt underneath. And he commented on it(don't know what but his voice was audible) which this guy laughed. You see being a girl you do get those stares and sometimes even catcalled. I have my fair share of it. It was one thing that I had to deal with it when I go out this was just unbearable for me for this to be happening around my own home. But because I was blinded by Jio sim and the fact I got it so early made me happy so I decided to overlook this during the feedback form. I SHOULDN'T HAVE.

THIS TIME I had placed an order for JIO sim on Monday 10th of June received a confirmation on 13:46 i.e., 1:46 PM. This entire episode happened from 12 to 1:30. Yesterday I was to get it home delivered. Because the previous one got damaged so wanted a new one. This delivery guy came and asked for the documents i.e., Aadhaar Card. The took the picture of the card and went for the facial recognition procedure I said that it will not work since it didn't work the last time either. But he then he asked for my voter's card but Lied and said that I don't have it. Because I know that my verification can be easily done with just the Aadhaar Card. And he was sending me out if I'll fight back or not. From his body language, it was obvious that he was up to something. He handed me the sim and asked for money I stupidly gave(cash on delivery) it to him. When I asked to recharge he said He'll do it when another message comes. But kept showing it to him and asked but he took up a dummy phone call and was pretending to be answering it.

And before I could utter anything he ran away with his Scooty. Quite literally. So there goes my 350Rs. I immediately called him up but he refused to take the call. AND I tried calling the Jio helpline. None of which worked some said one number even said WELCOME TO AIRTEL. It wasn't Jio then it wouldn't work. I panicked because this guy has my personal details and money and ended up calling the police station. But they were helpline too and were able to calm me. This money was very special to me because it was sorta like my very first paycheck and wanted to buy something nice and God I ended up choosing the worst thing possible.

I finally came across Jio care to which I immediately emailed. Since none of the numbers worked. They immediately emailed me back( autogenerated) but it was able to calm me down. And asked for more details. I immediately explained what happened waited for a response. What was worse turned to the extreme for me? They wrote According to the system your sim is activated but you need to recharge it for you to use. It was salt on my wounds. A DELIVERY GUY WAS ABLE TO STEAL IN BROAD DAYLIGHT from A CUSTOMER and it stunned me to think how he was able to do this without any fear. How because there is no immediate helpline to which you could call and say "HEY YOUR DELIVERY GUY JUST RAN AWAY WITH MY MONEY, YOUR SERVICES, AND MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. Since it was cash on delivery I could not prove I paid for it. There was so much security lapse. Still is. Like how other online shopping works. This isn't anything like that. the website clearly said that it was okay with COD. And this was how they reacted. Even though I emailed my number to contact me they didn't do so. Everything would've been so much faster.

And in complete panic mode, I ended up emailing almost all email id I could find on Jio. Since there were no humans on the other end just computers. Since my previous experience with these delivery men was bad & this guy has my personal details I had no intention of letting this guy go.

I received email from Jio care again saying that my sim is activated but I need to recharge it for me to use. To me, it was salt on my wounds. I kept saying(writing) that this person has my money their money and my personal details. And I wanted his details. If they didn't do anything I would. They did say that my personal data are confidential and that they blocked his number but I don't know what it meant. Did they oust him or just blocked his phone number. I didn't receive any updated from them. They said they'll solve it by 24hr. But the fact that he knows my data by his eyes and phone does not change. It does not take a genius to know that your info can be copied to other devices. I don't know if they recovered my data from his phone. Given my experience with the same company's delivery men.

When I woke up this morning I tried activating the sim but it was NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK. So they not only blocked him but me as well. I GUESS I should count my stars that my damage was minimal and limited to money theft. BUT thinking back These people are not even officials just delivery men taught how to use machines. There is no accountability. If you still want to get it home delivered THINK TWICE before you can. How much do you know about them? They don't even show their VALID ID. I doubt even the company knows anything about them. Always be with an elder or have many people around you. Don't be hasty. Always go to the official store to get it.

Since my experience was this bad with everything I was able to see through this. If it was good then perhaps I really wouldn't have seen it. You SHOULD NOT make this mistake. Ask for their ID verify them first before they verify you. The fact that the people who were supposed to care don't. care for your safety. I REPEAT CONSIDER SAFETY FIRST! I am really Fortunate that this stopped at this level and nothing too serious happened. But the fact that this guy had the dirty mind to steal really is concerning since it doesn't take long to lead one thing to another. Both my experience were not good. Be CAREFUL.!

Don't worry I've already sent all the details I have about this guy to the concerned authorities. They'll do what's best.

BUT STILL, BE SAFE. STAY SAFE!
