For Christmas I bought my husband a digital camera as he had always wanted one. The one I bought him was the Jenoptik JD 350.

The camera is silver and very small. It easily fits in to the palm of your hand. It is about the size of a credit or cash card and is a light camera to hold. It can easily fit in to your pocket or handbag. It comes with a strap and a carry case too.

As well as been a digital camera, you can also use it as a web cam. With this you can video mail, net meeting and video monitor.

First of all you need to install the software that you get with the camera. First put the CD in to your hard drive and follow the on screen instructions. This allows you to download photographs off your camera on to the PC.

To take a photograph, turn the camera on. Then set the mode to what you want it at for example flash, normal etc. Then wait until the light turns green and then press the button. It's as simple as that.

The mode settings to choose from are as follows:-

Flash

Self Timer

Resolution

Picture Number

Delete

Video

Normal

You can store up to 199 photographs on the camera before you have to download them on to your PC, so it does store quite a few in one go. We have not stored that many though yet.

The photograph's turn out really good too. You get software so that you can change the photo in anyway if you want to, for example you can lighten it up if it is too dark or take out red eyes if someone has red eyes.

We have not used it as a web cam yet as we mainly got it for the digital camera itself. It comes with a stand for the camera to stand on for when you do use it as a web cam though.

The system requirements for this camera are:-

Windows 95/98/2000

Pentium or above CPU

32 MB Ram

VGA Display

110 MB free disc

CD Rom Drive

The good thing about having a digital camera is that we will not have to buy any films for it, so it will save you in the long run. The photo quality paper to print the photograph's on though is expensive.

The downside to it though is that is goes through batteries really quickly so it is best to use rechargeable batteries.

I bought this camera from Index and it cost me £120 which is not a bad price to pay for a good camera. It is worth every penny and my husband has used it many times and so have I too.

I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a digital camera!!!
