One of the the latest additions to Cinema-scape of NCR is the JAM-Just About Movies in Shipra Mall in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. The theatre is as spacious and luxuriously laid out as the Mall itself. The mall has huge open spaces and amphitheatre. Looks simply gorgeous. Shipra Group has continued its ample spacing in the layout of the cinema halls too.
The gradient in seating is enormous. So much so that even if the person in your front row stands up, your view will not be blocked. The seat s are very comfortable with ample cushioning at the seat and back rest. The width of seats is sufficient to accommodate a 3-4 yr old kid by your side.
Sound is simply Great with Dolby Digital EX, if I am not mistaken. You feel surrounded by the envelope of sound. It has got tremendous dB Still it does not sound cacophonous unlike so many other theatres. The Projector beams at one of the widest screens.
The screens are full size in all the three theatres. You do not get the video parlour kind of feel unlike many other leading Multiplexes. Heard they have state of the art projecting equipments here. Although sometimes I find the picture to be too soft for my liking.
Coming to popcorns, I feel the pinch but, that is the trend everywhere. You end up spending more on snacks than on the tickets if you are watching en-family. I also feel that they should apply variable pricing like PVR has implemented in its latest offering at PVR Noida. I have not experienced this one but have this feedback the aux theatres are like pigeon holes.
My friends from US found it really impressive and comparable to or even better than the better ones out there.
I recommend it. But avoid the Food court of Shipra Mall, if possible, on which I will write later.
