Hello everyone this time am writing about the place where we visited for our college camp though we spent only 5 days in Jaipur but that was worth, being a South Indian guy I have always admired the Rajasthani culture and its heritage. The people, their garments, costumes, their languages and their way of addressing people saying "KHAMMHA GHANI".
We only had 5 days with us and have to visit multiple historical places and monuments as JAIPUR - The Pink City is very rich in its Forts, Palaces and Raj Mahals. My review will be helpful for all those who plans to have fun and holidays in Rajasthan.
How To Reach
If you are planing to travel by train then Jaipur is well connected city from all the parts of India by rail network as well as roadways.It also has International Airport(JAI) in sanganer just 10km away from Jaipur railway station.The city is well connected internally by city buses and low floyer buses.
Where to stay
You can find all types of hotels with 1 star to 5 star we can choose them depending on our budget. You can stay to some of the well budget and facilities hotels like 66-Residency, Ace Hotel, Amer City and Aroma City. These hotels are packed with impressive services and relaxing rooms, this boarding house gives a homely feel and comfort.
Places to visit
Jaipur has a long list of places to visit still if you read this review you won't require any guide to explore the city I am covering almost all the places one by one with their description.
1. Hawa Mahal
Its an ancient Mahal built-1799 most recognizable monument of Jaipur 5 storied with 152 windows with over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture.Timing 10.00 am to 4.30 pm and Entry Fee Rs. 5.00.
2. Amer Fort
The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful palaces.The solemn dignity of it red sandstone and white marble pavilions, when reflected in the lake at the foot hill, is a sight to behold. Timing: 9.00 am to 4.30 pm and Entry Fee Rs. 10.00.
3. Jaigarh Fort
Its on a hilltop has world’s biggest cannon on wheels- the Jai Ban. Timing 10.00 am to 4.45 pm and Entry Fee Rs. 15.00.
4. Jal Mahal
It is on the way to Amer, this small palace is set in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. A paved causeway leads upto the beautiful water palace.
5. City Palace
The place is situated in the heart of the old City, it occupies about one seventh of the old city area.It has Diwan-E-Am(Hall of public audience) and Diwan-E-Khas(Hall of private audience) with rich collection of costumes, textiles and manuscripts. Timing 9.30 am to 4.45 pm and Entry Fee Rs. 35.00.
6. Nahargarh Fort
Cresting a hill for about 600 ft. above the city. The walls of the fort run along the ridge and within are architectural beauties like Hawa Mandir and Madhvendra Bhawan. Timing 10.00am to 4.00 pm and Entry Fee Rs. 5.00
7. Albert Museum
This graceful building was built by Prince Albert(also known as Albert Hall). It has a rare collection of archaeological and handicraft pieces. Timing 10.00 am to 4.30 pm and Entry Fee Rs. 5.00
8. Birla Mandir
It is situated just below the Moti doongri, known for the intricate marble carvings in white marble, popularly known as Birla Temple.
Markets where to shop and what?
The city is well famous market for Lac Work, Meenakari, Metal Work, Marble Work, Paintings, Leather Work, Gemstones, Carpets, Wood Work, Jewellery.
M.I Road - famous for selling old silver jewellery and artefacts, antiques, handicraft and apparel.
Johri Bazar - best for sarees and lehangas in colourful bhandhej, or glittering gemstone jewellery.
Bapu Bazar - well known for Jaipuri stuff - salwar suits, bedsheets, Jaipuri jutis, cushions and readymade suits.
4. Badi Chaupar - famous mojaris, handicraft, antiques, Rajasthani furniture, salwar suits and Jaipuri print dress material.
What to eat?
The rich Rajasthani culture have also reflects from its tasty and mouthwatering food. The food which one must eat while visiting Jaipur are Dal Batti Churma, Mawa Kachori, Ghewar, Mirchi Bada, Rajasthani Subji - Gatte ki subji, Rajasthani curry, Mangori, Pakodi and Ker Sangari, Bajre Ki Roti, Makki Ki Roti, Jau-Channa Ki Roti, Besan Ki Roti, Cheelra, Paratha, Puri, Methi Puri, Rumali Roti… the list is endless.
