Jab Harry Met Sejal was much awaited fiom of 2017 due to certain reasons. The primary reason was the title itself. At first the film was titled as THE RING, then it was changed to the REHNUMA, and after certain discussions the title JAB HARRY MET SEJAL was locked as the final title.
PLOT - The film starts with the entry of Shah Rukh Khan as Harry who is a tourist guide in Europe and seems to be somewhere lost in his daily routine. Basically Harry is a born Indian who ran away from his house in Noormahal( a small village in Punjab) just coz he aimed to become a singer in Canada. As conditions were not favourable for him, he became a tourist guide. The female lead Anushka Sharma who plays the role of Gujarati girl Sejal who is daughter of diamond company owner. Sejal was in Europe with her family for her destination engagement ceremony. Due to some circumstances, Sejal loses her enagegement ring. She realizes about the ring when she was about the board in the flight for India, her fiance Rupen gets severely angry on her and tells her to come back to India only with the ring. Poorly helpless Sejal decides to searh the ring. When she leaves the airport, she meets Harry who gets frustrated due to the silly behaviour of Sejal. The film goes through certain ups and downs throughout this RING SEARCH MISSION.
DIRECTION - When Imtiaz Ali is up with something new, the audience has certain high hopes. The storyline can be considered as a bit weak and can be condemed as a slow film.
Anyone can judge the climax from the trailer. Though the principle photography in Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Lisbon and other european locations adds decency to the film but are unsuccessful to uplift the progress of the film.
Quite disappointment from high talented and versatile director Imtiaz Ali.
PERFORMANCE - Shah Rukh Khan tries his level best to glance up the film but cannot copeup the expectations of audience as well as critics. He tries to embrace the audince with his old charm but obviously you cannot lift up a weakly scripted film. At certain moments, we feel that SRK charm but again those charms cannot fulfil the weak points.
Anushka Sharma is quite successfull in portraying the role of Gujarati girl and some of her dialogues bring smile to the face.
Overall average performance from the stars.
SOUNDTRACK - The soundtrack is composed by Pritam Chakraborty so obviously one cannot doubt on his ability. The lyrics of the songs are written by Irshad Kamil , so the songs are highly refined with the touch and blend of purity.
Radha, Safar, Beech Beech Mein, Hawayein, Raua, ButterflyPhurr are quite decent and likeable.
Instead of many songs, the soundtrack is up to the mark.
MY OPINION - According to me, if you are fond of love stories and european destinations, you should go and watch the film.
