First let me write some lines from my all time favorite song on which the
title of the movie is based...

Now here's the review -
Simply hats off to the director producer duo Abbas Tyrewala & Aamir Khan
for presenting another nice musical-romantic-comedy movie...No doubt TZP was
the sole & wonderful creation of Aamir but this time Abbas has done his
best job in making such a lovely movie...Although everybody has a doubt that
Aamir must have interfered a lot in the making of movie as per his image of Mr.
Perfectionist but anyhow we have got to see a nice movie with the combined
team's efforts...
I am writing a movie review after a long time...I have tried many times to
write something good about the movies I liked but didn't write due to many
reasons...And Paul is also one of the reason, as I couldn't find good words
because of his excellent movie reviews on latest flicks every time...I think he
must have a good friend in some multiplex who invite him to watch the show and
write some good review...just kidding Paul...plz keep on posting ur movie
reviews...
I am not writing or revealing the story much, I just want to write what I
have liked about the movie...I am not a good critic at all but I want to
express my views about the movie thru this review...
I liked the core of the movie - Friendship
Irrespective of their nature they are best friends...Meow and Rats are
friends in the movie...
Plot, Sequences of Present & Flash Back
The story of the movie starts with story telling idea in the waiting lounge
at the airport by the old gang members (Rotlu, Jiggy, Bombs and Shaleen) to the
newly joined friend Mala...Our zeal to know the upcoming scenes also increased
with the eagerness of Mala...the sequences came to the screen as the story
moves...and in the last story ends on the airport with the happy ending and lots
of masti & reunion of the friends...
Music- Rehman rocks the heart and mind once again by composing
lovely music of the movie...All the songs are very nice to hear any time and in
any mood...The music of Rehman is also one of the main cause of the success of
the movie...
Cast & Crew
The cast & crew of the movie were really excellent. The new faces have
given a good chance to prove themselves, in the crew of so many talented
actors. Each & every character has been given a sufficient scope of acting
and exposure.
Imran Khan as Jai Singh Rathore or 'Rats' - Another new and fresh
face in Bollywood. He has acted very nicely in his debut movie. He looked cool,
confident and energetic in the character of Jai. Although he was in lead role
and he has to be impressive with all his looks and doings in the movie but I
was happy to see such a non-violent & cool guy at least in the movie, as
its hard to find such a cool young guy in real life. His sense of humor in the
movie was good, he was caring & loving for his friends and momma. He has
been taught to be calm and cool in every situation by his mom exactly opposite
of his father's violent and brave personality...People around him thought him
as a coward and hence the name given to him by his best friend as RATS...
Genelia D'Souza as Aditi or 'Meow' - I have seen some nice pics of
this beautiful actress on a website long back and got to watch her last month
in her first bollywood movie - Mere Baap Pehle Aap. She was not so impressive
with her performance in her debut movie but she has created her fans due to her
looks and confidence...And that crdeit goes to Priyadarshan...But she looked
somewhat different in this movie with lots of improvement in her acting skills
and accent in speaking hindi. She was a dare devil fighter, violent and
passionate girl in the movie, she can fight with any body for any misdoing and
hence the name given to her by her friend as MEOW. She looked very bindaas kind
of girl in the movie very different to typical indian girl...
Ratna Pathak Shah- As usual she was excellent in her role of a
caring momma and reponsible & active social worker...she has brought up her
son with a false impression of his father as a non-violent person...and she got
succeeded to much extent in her attempt...
Naseeruddin Shah- Naseer was in small but important role in the
movie...He has acted very funny as the character living in photo frame. He was
the brave father of the cool hero. He was confident that his son will prove
himself as a warrior...We all have waited eagerly for his next scene in the
movie...
Paresh Rawal- He has another small but entertaining role in the
movie. Although he was somewhat negative in character (as per the demand of a
cunning police officer's role) but he has entertained in every frame he acted...Ratna
Pathak got sympathy of the audiences just due to Paresh Rawal's misdoings...but
in the end he behaved very nicely with Jai by leaving him from lockup due to
order from the top...
Arbaaz & Sohail- The actors duo were the surprise in the movie,
they have entertained in both the scenes they appeared. First they were the bad
boys for the group of friends but in the last scene they helped the hero to
catch his love on time...Director has used these characters very well for
something good for the hero in the whole story...First the hero got his girl
friend because of these bad boys and in the last once again hero was able to
reach to the airport because of these guys...
In the last I can say - One should be able to know that s/he has fallen in
love with some one special in his/her life...If not, s/he has to face such
situations which Jai and Aditi has faced in the movie...anyway its just a
movie, the real life is much different...
