Prologue
The purists who are hoping to read a conventional Hindi movie review, kindly please excuse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~
A girl in her early 20’s loves this guy since childhood. They both have been together right from the schooldays. She herself doesn’t know how much she adores him. Making a scrapbook of the moments spent together, thinking about him every hour of the day, trying to attract his attention in the college, preparing notes for him so that he can clear the exams, being his proxy when he is busy bunking classes… oh this sweet little selfless love.
Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more
Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you
One fine day, her dream comes true. The guy asks her out, expressing his love for her. The girl is speechless. She blushes, she stammers, she can’t believe she got what she wanted all these years, she confirms if the guy isn’t joking, she says I love you too…
The romance begins… gifting soft toys, having mushy talks over the phone, sitting together by the beach side, fasting on karvachauth. How lucky those are who get their true love. Life had never been so rosy for her.
There's no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There's nowhere - unless you're there
All the time - all the way
Until one day… when her heart is brutally shattered to pieces. She comes to know, he betrayed her. She comes to know, he played with her feelings. She comes to know, love can be painful too. She comes to know that he doesn’t love her…
Heart can be such a fool at times. It doesn’t understand any boundaries, but just wants to keep swimming limitlessly in the ocean of love, no matter how freezing the water maybe…
They break off and separate ways, nights became sleepless, her tears dried down with time, life seemed like a mere formality – a routine one has to go through without expecting anything fruitful in return. But one thing that didn’t change was her love for him. She still cared for him a lot and adored him from the depth of her wounded heart. If love started to die so easily, the poets would have been starving by now…
Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it there's nothin' I want more
I would fight for you - I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you - Ya I'd die for you
How the movie ends?
On a positive note! The guy (Shahid Kapoor) realizes his mistake and asks for forgiveness. The girl (Amrita Rao) understands the fact that to err is human. She decides to give him another chance and they live happily ever after…
How the life ends?
No, life doesn’t end. Just goes on and on. However, it may change for better or worse depending on how one reacts to the heartbreak & betrayal. Some hope to get back their love and wait/fight for it. Some decide to take revenge. Some accept it as a part of their destiny and move on.
What path one may choose is entirely up to that person, but what one must never forget is that life has three ways of answering the questions.
(1). It says “Yes” and gives you what you want.
(2). It says “No” and gives you something better.
(3). It says “Wait” and gives you the best in its own time.
