The school is alright, my daughter has been attending the school for the past 7 years(her eighth year is 2022-23), and is currently attending 11th grade(choosing to keep her name anonymous). Inventure often prioritizes its extra-curriculars among students, and often enshrines in them the passion of being intrinsically motivated.
However, as a result, it is unable to balance this with academics and its academically-inclined students. I applaud Inventure management for their handling of students during the pandemic. Nevertheless, the year before COVID struck and this past year, cracks in the Inventure management have started to show. While the management and coordination have been great up until 7th grade.
Following which, this horrendous mismanagement has taken effect. Portions are never completed on time, with multiple vacation series following the other. Few subject teachers are ill-equipped, incompetent and unfamiliar with the subject matter.
I saw this last year when my daughter was in 10th, portions were not completed until, practically a week before the final IGCSE board exams, this exacts a huge toll on the students, who are already under so much pressure. While I used to praise the English department earlier, now the English department is lax and unable to complete the subject matter at home.
Last year, they did not grade as per the marking curves, nor provide sufficient time to complete assessments and ended up rushing through syllabus content. This year, they have hired a completely new teacher, from England, who I had initially had high hopes for, but has ultimately let the students down. She has taken month's break to go on vacation, leaving no one to finish the portions. And don't get me started on the Additional mathematics plan for the previous year, they ended up attempting to cram a 2-year IGCSE course in 3-4 months. Terrible planning indeed.
Lastly, when it comes to college placements, Inventure has shone in the past, pre-2018. However, in recent years, college counsellors have told students not to apply to universities that they are not guaranteed to. Students who had the potential to go to Ivy League colleges were shunned by the management.
Inventure simply wants to increase the number of its students that go to their top 3 preferred colleges(and it is easier if these colleges are lower ranked ones). Inventure has also given priority to students who are not interested in the traditional PCMC, and given them preference while writing recommendation letters. Inventure Academy doesn't take criticism well, and I hope that this platform allows Inventure to view my issues and hopefully address them.
