A new smart phone was launched via Snapdeal. The configuration was such that it would jaw drop you the moment you read the specifications. It was clearly stated that this pricing is for limited period of time because Foxconn group(American Company) is enetering the Indian market for the first time.

I had been eagerly waiting for some surprise device(like Xiaomi) to be launched in India, and boom there it is, InFocus M2.

Specs:

Screen: 4.2 inch HD screen with pixel density 355dpi( phew!, iPhone 4s had 330dpi)

Camera:

Rear Camera: 8 MP with flash, Front Camera: 8 MP with flash( That's too much for sub 5K)

1 GB RAM with Quadcore processor and clock speed 1.3GHz.

Battery Juice: 2010 mAh(Li-Po), that's enough juice and did last for 12 hours average use(not gaming)

Software: 4.4.2 Kitkat with it's own UI called InLife( touch of iPhone, I have been using 4S so I can compare it)

The killer USP is, this phone supports 4G(mind you, price is <5K). The back cover is removable but battery is not(just like new Moto).

Storage: Inbuilt 8GB, expandable to 64GB. Out of the box usage space was tad above 5GB.

Photos were clear and sharp in outdoor but looked dull in indoor. The three capacitive keys are not backlit so in night it does causes problem to spot the button at night. The finish of volume rocker and power key looks cheap plastic which makes queky little noise. It comes pre-loaded with photo enhancing software, cache and process cleaner, Dropbox, file manager and phone finder. The phone I received was making disturbing sound when I made my voice call to maximum level. I guess it's some defect hence I have ordered the replacement. One day of my use has not tested this piece to the core but sufficient for a daily user to conclude. I tried hard not to compare this to my 4S but still the similarities in both(M2 and 4S) makes me conclude that they did try to imitate some features from iOS.

For a sun 5K range, this phone is a blessing and the people who are still to buy their first smart phone(if any) can easily opt for InFocus M2.

Sad news, as of now the status on Snapdeal stands, 'SOLD OUT and we will be back soon'.
