We had been to this resort a couple of years back, my wife, her mom and I with our 6 month old son. My wife had just been thru her delivery and we thought some of the treatments would do her good. We stayed drove down from Bangalore for a couple of days and it was a memorable experience.

It started on a sour note though, the room we had booked for was not available, we were not prepared to settle for a smaller one that they showed us. Then a friend of ours had told us to ask for the owners Bunglow accommodation. We did that and they complied! It was great, a whole bunglow to ourselves. The house itself was superbly and tastefully constructed, great care taken into the amenities in individual rooms and amenities. Our room was large with two twin-beds and a double layered childrens cot. The house was on carefully maintained lawns and gardens. It was simply a wonderful place to live in. While saying this, I must inform you that the regular rooms are themselves situated in lovely quiet surroundings.

The Auyurveda part was excellent. They have a teaching institute on campus with a live in master and Ayurvedic Doctor. The master prepares the students and once he deems them fit to perfom a particular routine, he allows them to do it on the patients (guests). The whole exercise is done in the traditional ayurvedic way with two vidwans massaging each side of the body symmetrically. This by itself sets this place apart from most of the so called Ayurvedic treatment centres. The vidwans were well trained and confident of their routines. The full body massage, Abhyanga and Sweda routine is relaxing and soothing. There are specific treatments to pains and aches to various parts of the body.

Food is in house, buffet style but always fresh. Wholesome and vegetarian with low use of masala and chilli. A selection of North Indian and South Indian dishes are available. We had taken a non-packages option, so rooms, meals and treatments were separately priced. For those who like a no-hassles holiday cum Ayurvedic experience, they have packages that start with pickup at the Airport/Railway station/Bangalore city and drop back to your point of departure.

Call them up and reserve in advance. They are usually fully occupied in the winter months by foreign bookings so if you are looking for those months, you need to really start your planning early. Staff is extremely courteous and friendly both on the phone and in-house. The rates have gone up when I last checked there is an approximate 25% increase from what we paid a couple of years back. They seem to have added a tennis court and a few other frills which you may never use though. They also seem to have added a "Villa" category for the room where we stayed in. If they have maintained the same standards and service levels, it is worth it, though it will pinch a middle class Indian pocket for a package.

If you happen to plan to be in Mysore, then phone them up and see if they have free slots to accommodate your treatment.  This may be the best option if you do not want to stay in their accommodation.

Good luck.
