Honestly, I don't recommend this company to any fresher.
I was an employee of this company for one and a half years. I gave this company one of my best performance compared to my previous ones. But I got no career enhancement at the end.
I am from the advertising field. To upgrade my skillset I did two consecutive courses from INA- website design & development and digital marketing. I spent 50k + of my hard earned bucks to do so. Then my trainer gave a reference to this company. Initially, I was happy. But within a few days I understood what a bad mistake I made by joining this company.
As an advertising professional (4+ years of experience) my last drawn salary was 12k in hand. I took a break of seven months because of an accident that rendered me immobile for a while. This caused a salary drop. And I was offered only 8k in hand as I was considered as a fresher here. An executive in digital marketing and getting a salary of only 8k? So cheap? And look at the works I had to do.
Well, as a 'cheap executive' as I was considered, I was made to do only the following works for one and half years - graphic design, social media copywriting, campaign ideation, post scheduling, collating organic report from social media. I had to find pictures for my senior graphic designer so that he can complete his post designing tasks. I had to guide him to do his job. I also had to fill in the gap of any absentee graphic designer in the team (mine used to take a lot of leaves). I had to assign some predefined tasks to the content writers and designers. That's it. I never got exposure to any other things of the trade. No one cares to teach me tips and tricks of trade. I was bored. Everyday I used to come prepared with new stuffs learnt and all I could get to do are these. I repeatedly asked to change my domain as I was more interested in SEO and PPC.
To my surprise, I was asked to carry on with whatever tasks they are assigning to me. Surely the management took me in for a particular purpose. Though I didn't like the tasks assigned to me, I did give my best. But it seemed that the management was never satisfied with the volume of work they were getting from me.
Also, my question was if these guys were determined to extract work based on my previously acquired skills and experience then why on earth they take me as a fresher and offered such a cheap grade salary? And why on earth my trainer give a reference to this company? Didn't he know what they were gonna do with me? What type of teacher gives wrong guidance or reference to destroy the progress of his student? Moreover, we both were under the same team leader!
I tried to leave this company but my 'two months long notice period clause' caused a hindrance in getting any interview calls. Many recruiters expressed their amazement over this clause as to why a 8k salaried employee needs to serve two month's notice period. Neither I could get a job nor I could like the job. It became a burden to me. In order to keep the job for this meager amount of salary (we all do need jobs for survival) I had to overwork. I was in a constant fear of losing my job based on non-performance or underperformance.
The dirty, smelly, noisy and claustrophobic environment was not suitable for me. I had to carry back my works at home and finish the tasks at night. I didn't sleep properly for one and a half years.
Overwork did not go well with me. Extreme physical and mental exhaustion caused panic attacks. After one year I contracted a nerve-related ailment called carpal tunnel syndrome that caused my fingers to go numb. They started getting crooked slowly. There was extreme pain in my right arm. Neither TL, managers, nor even my team mates hardly understood the pain and agony I was going through. I don't think the management try to understand the problems of 'freshers' and 'cheap labours'. Arey bhai we are humans too!
...Or maybe they are selective about whom to consider humans and whom not to.
I ultimately had to put down the resignation under certain circumstances. After leaving this company I found it difficult to get a good job. And with this health issue slowly building up in me ultimately destroyed my career.
It took me 15 years to build by skillset step by step and to reach the level that would initiate my career growth. It took one and a half year to destroy it completely.
Some may laugh at my fate, some may get amused, some disgusted, but the truth is that this job proved fatal for me.
I once believed good hard-working dedicated workers get well paid and opportunities to flourish...this notion got destroyed completely after this job experience. It really feels painful to say I regret my choice now.
I have a request to the management system of this company... please don't destroy dreams of others in order to fulfill the needs of your favourites.
I have another request to the higher authority... please implement a non-biased grievance handling cell who has the ability to identify bullies among workers, unfair work distribution and salary system. Don't make one person working hard and another taking advantage of it.
