We booked our flights with Indigo for Goa-Hyderabad during our recent holiday visit to Hyderabad.
I had not really read any reviews about them or their service but purely booked with them because of the lowest fares. During the period we traveled (Sep first week), Indigo offered the lowest prices among all other airlines. Also, I had known that it is one of the trusted names when it comes to domestic flying.
Booking Experience: We booked their flights with Goibibo, as the rates there were cheaper than Indigo website and the process was smooth. Only worry was after booking, for some time (about 10-15 mins), the status was showing as "In Process" and after that I started receiving SMS of booking being confirmed.
Try to time your booking as the rates keep fluctuating as you pass through the process of flight selection, filling up passenger details etc. So, if you are not in hurry, wait and keep trying for some good rates.
Check-in experience: Was smooth again, this could be because of various other factors too like which airport it is, traffic load at the airport, facilities at the airport, time of travel etc. However, the Indigo executives were helpful both at Goa as well as HYD airports. We had an infant and kids along with and were served on priority. No baggage hassles.
Inside craft: Cabin experience was regular. As a common thing on domestic flights, there are no free meals, but there are ready-to-eat, paid meals served. Rates are as expected, high, like Rs. 200 for a cup of instant noodles. They will also ask you to go through their merchandise magazine, in case you wish to buy any of the products.
Travel experience: Overall travel experience, I would say was good. Flight take-off and landing were quite smooth. The return was a late night flight and as a result, there were very few passengers, hence check-in process was quick, there was no delay and flight took off on time and arrived on time.
So, in short, if all goes well, the air journey usually is a pleasant one, it's just that sometimes, one ill-factor leads to other and it can jeopardize your entire journey or travel plan.
