I had booked a vegetarian meal. The flight took off from Bangalore. But on the runway, the captain suddenly applied brakes and returned to the tarmac. After stopping the flight, he said that there was a minor technical issue and after refuelling flight will take off again within 15-25 minutes. However the flight took off only at 6.50 pm i.e. after 2hrs and 40 minutes delay. I understand that the passengers are not entitled to know the reason.


I had left home at 1220 pm and was looking forward to the vegetarian meal since I had not eaten anything and was feeling hungry. When my turn came, I was told that no hot food or drink can be served since the aircraft was going to land soon. As far as the meal is concerned, I was told only salted cashew, almond or chips is available. Vegetable sandwich also was not available.


There was not even a sorry or apology for the inconvenience. If they cannot serve the meal to all those who have booked, why allow pre-booking. I travelled by Air Asia flight on 12th, they served what exactly I had booked and first they served all those who had booked in advance. Thereafter they started service to others and they served all.


I feel that I am entitled to refund of the amount of Rs.200 I had paid and some compensation for the treatment I got. Hope the airline will be graceful and extend this courtesy to a 65 year old senior citizen so that he will not carry bad feeling with his body when he dies.


I have been asked to submit the meal stub copy in reply by the airline. The airline knows that meal stub is collected when meaI is served. I have sent copy of boarding pass without meal stub today to their disappointment.
