I became a member of India Today Book Club through Indiatimes.com, where they had a promotional offer of 3 books and 2 CDs. I received the books and CDs on time, but one CD was in damaged condition. So I immediately sent back the CD by courier to them along with a letter asking to replace it. No response. I wrote follow-up letters. No Response. I sent e-mails. Vague response like "please send your membership number; sent that, still No Response! It has been one year now. What to do?
Another problem is that there is a delivery charge, which was mentioned in the information given in the website. But then there was an additional charge which was to be paid to the postman, when he delivers the package. If postal department is being paid for the delivery of the package, then what is the sizeable delivery charge for? At least they can mention this on the website. In the process whatever mineal discount is offered gets nullified. On the whole the whole deal smacks of poor customer responsiveness.
